Background: Hypoxia-induced apoptosis is linked to the pathogenesis of myocardial infarction. The role of apoptosis-inducing factor mitochondria associated 1 (AIFM1) in cardiomyocyte injury remains unclear. This study was aimed at probing into the role and the underlying regulatory mechanism of AIFM1 in myocardial injury.

To address this, we launch the Unified CT-COVID AI Diagnostic Initiative (UCADI), where the artificial intelligence (AI) model can be distributedly trained and independently executed at each host institution under a federated learning framework without data sharing. Here we show that our federated learning framework model considerably outperformed all of the local models (with a test sensitivity/specificity of 0.

Herein, inspired by the coordinate bond in metallacarborane or ferrocene, the boron cluster-based noncovalent interaction (denoted as cage···cage interaction) between two -carborane clusters was successfully realized by using a pyridinium-based molecular barrier.

Aim: To explore the relation of BRCA1 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and survival in patients with resected NSCLC.
Methods: EMBASE, PubMed, Web of Science, and The Cochrane Library databases were searched to identify the relevant articles.

Lanthanide (Ln )-doped upconversion (UC) nanoprobes, which have drawn extensive attention for various bioapplications, usually suffer from small absorption cross-sections and weak luminescence intensity of Ln ions. Herein, we report the controlled synthesis of a new class of Ln -doped UC nanoprobes based on CsLu F :Yb/Er nanocrystals (NCs), which can effectively increase the intersystem crossing (ISC) efficiency from singlet excited state to triplet excited state of IR808 up to 99.3 % through the heavy atom effect.

Organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) hold promise for developing a variety of high-performance (bio-)electronic devices/circuits. While OECTs based on p-type semiconductors have achieved tremendous progress in recent years, n-type OECTs still suffer from low performance, hampering the development of power-efficient electronics. Here, it is demonstrated that fine-tuning the molecular weight of the rigid, ladder-type n-type polymer poly(benzimidazobenzophenanthroline) (BBL) by only one order of magnitude (from 4.

Therefore, we summarized and analyzed the clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes of these patients, hoping to provide some experience in the diagnosis and treatment.
Methods: Clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with ≥ 3 lesions who have been diagnosed as SMPLA and underwent surgical resection in our hospital from March 2015 to July 2019 were retrospectively reviewed.
A multistage approach to diagnose lateral retropharyngeal nodes (LRPNs) of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) had been proposed and warranted for validation. Between 2012 and 2017, the patients with newly diagnosed NPC were enrolled. The responsive nodes or those that progressed during follow-up were positive.

Therefore, novel therapeutic biomarkers and agents must be identified for the same. KAT5 inhibitor, NU 9056, is a small molecule that can inhibit cellular proliferation; however, its role in ENKTL has not been studied.

Recent investigations revealed that MOA inhibited several human cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs) and stimulated OATP1B1. However, the inhibitory effects of MOA on phase II drug-metabolizing enzymes, such as human UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (hUGTs), have not been well investigated.

Herein, it is found that the temperature dependence of bandgap in CsPbBr perovskites is variable with material dimensionality. In contrast to the monotonous redshift ordinarily observed in bulk-like CsPbBr nanocrystals (NCs), the bandgap of 2D CsPbBr nanoplatelets (NPLs) exhibits an initial blueshift then redshift trend with decreasing temperature (290-10 K).

However, owing to the diversity and complexity of structures and behaviors, the study of motion-structure-property relationships remains a challenge, especially at all levels of structural hierarchy from molecules to macro-objects. Herein, luminogens showing aggregation-induced emission (AIE), namely, 9-(pyrimidin-2-yl)-carbazole (PyCz) and 9-(5-R-pyrimidin-2-yl)-carbazole [R = Cl (ClPyCz), Br (BrPyCz), and CN (CyPyCz)], were designed and synthesized, to decipher the dependence of materials' structures and properties on molecular motions at the molecule and aggregate levels.

N-type semiconducting polymers are attractive for organic electronics, but desirable electron-deficient units for synthesizing such polymers are still lacking. As a cousin of rylene diimides such as naphthalene diimide (NDI) and perylene diimide (PDI), anthracene diimide (ADI) is a promising candidate; its polymers, however, have not been achieved yet because of synthetic challenges for its polymerizable monomers. Herein, we present ingenious synthesis of two dibromide ADI monomers with dibromination at differently symmetrical positions of the ADI core, which are further employed to construct ADI polymers.
