This systematic review aims to evaluate the use of EORTC QLQ-C15-PAL and FACIT-Pal-14 in prospective studies in patients with advanced cancer, focusing on study types, clinical settings, additional HR-QoL tools used, and completion rates.

We longitudinally assessed immune cell activation and surface marker expression in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood and their relationship with CSF HIV RNA beginning during primary HIV infection (PHI) before and after antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Methods: Longitudinal paired blood and CSF were obtained in ART-naïve PHI (<12 month since infection) participants; some independently initiated ART during follow up.

Introduction: Despite being a rare cause of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), sickle cell disease has broad kidney implications. Patients with both sickle cell disease and ESKD are at a greater risk of adverse events including mortality; while these patients can be managed with hemodialysis (HD), the use of nocturnal HD in sickle cell disease has not been previously described.

Methods: Here, we report a patient with sickle cell disease and ESKD who transitioned from conventional HD to nocturnal home HD.

Using hearing loss-specific American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG)/Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) guidelines applied to a URM-specific cohort demonstrates the utility of these guidelines in reducing the disparity in diagnostic efficacy of genetic testing for URM populations.

Host plant use in Lepidoptera has been a primary focus in studies of ecological specialization, and multiple factors are likely to be involved in shaping the evolution of diet breadth. Here, we first describe the Salient Aroma Hypothesis, suggesting that the availability of chemical information, particularly host-associated aromas, plays a critical role in shaping dietary specialization. According to the Salient Aroma Hypothesis, herbivores active during periods when chemical information is abundant, particularly during the daytime hours when plant aromas are hypothesized to be more prevalent, are more likely to evolve specialized diets.

Innovative Design and Synthesis of Fullerene-Terpyridine Derivatives for Enhanced Electron Transport in Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells.

In this study, three fullerene derivatives─, , and ─were synthesized and investigated as additives in PCBM-based electron-transporting layers (ETLs) for inverted perovskite solar cells (PVSCs). The incorporation of and into the ETLs led to improved ETL morphology and passivation of crystal defects on the surface of the methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI) layer. This defect passivation enhanced crystal quality, increased UV-vis absorption, reduced charge recombination, and improved electron mobility in the - and -based PVSCs.
