Introduction: During laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis, it is often difficult to keep the surgical view dry because of inflammation-related tissue fragility and susceptibility to bleeding. The resulting inadequate surgical view can lead to bile duct or vascular injury. Soft coagulation systems are used to achieve hemostasis during various surgeries; however, the usefulness of soft coagulation during laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis is unclear.

Although the frequency of MD-related complications such as inflammation or bleeding is relatively high, small bowel obstruction induced by axial torsion of the MD is rare. Therefore, we herein report such a case along with a review of the literature.

NETs occur principally in the gastrointestinal tract (approximately 65%) and bronchopulmonary tract (approximately 25%) but rarely occur in the presacral space. Aside from primary and metastatic lesions, there have been reports of NETs occurring in the presacral space arising from tailgut cysts, teratomas, and imperforate anus.

Materials And Methods: Between January 2005 and December 2013, the medical records of 140 patients with T3 or T4 colorectal cancer who underwent curative resection (R0) at our Hospital were investigated retrospectively.
Background: The utility and problems including the socioeconomic aspect of laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer have not been fully evaluated.
Subjects And Methods: We compared open distal gastrectomy and laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy for the clinical benefit, quality of life, and problems of operation cost by the reference documents in which the difference between open distal gastrectomy and laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy was examined in detail. The reference documents retrieved by the key words 'gastric, cancer, laparoscopic, surgery' were 22 in PubMed with the following limits activated: Humans, Clinical Trial, Meta-Analysis, Randomized Controlled Trial, Review, English, Core clinical journals, published in the last 10 years.
The patient was a 57-year-old man. The chief complaints were bleeding upon defecation and decreased body weight. He came to our department in May 2006 because the bleeding had been observed since summer 2005 and he had lost 7 kg in one year.
