Current-driven motion of magnetic domain walls is one of the key technologies for developing storage class memory devices. Extensive studies have revealed a variety of material systems that exhibit high-speed and/or lower power propagation of the domain walls driven by electric current. However, few studies have assessed the reliability of the operations of the memory technology.

It is necessary to identify the precise advantages of 3D-printed models from all perspectives; not only the improvement in students' knowledge of anatomy but also the students' assessment of such models. Here, students of veterinary medicine and animal science evaluated the reproducibility and effectiveness of 3D-printed models as a learning tool by completing our questionnaires, with a focus on their understanding of the skull-morphological differences among dog breeds.

Breakthrough experiments have recently shown that an ultrashort laser pulse destroys the magnetization of an ordered ferromagnet within hundreds of femtoseconds, with the spins losing angular momentum to circularly polarized optical phonons as part of the ultrafast Einstein-de Haas effect. However, the prospect of using such high-frequency vibrations of the lattice to reciprocally switch magnetization in a nearby magnetic medium has not yet been experimentally explored.

This study aimed to evaluate the level of anxiety and its associated factors among non-Japanese residents residing in Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A web-based survey in 13 languages was conducted among non-Japanese residents living in Japan during the COVID-19 situation.
Single-shot optical imaging based on ultrashort lasers has revealed nonrepetitive processes in subnanosecond timescales beyond the recording range of conventional high-speed cameras. However, nanosecond photography without sacrificing short exposure time and image quality is still missing because of the gap in recordable timescales between ultrafast optical imaging and high-speed electronic cameras. Here, we demonstrate nanosecond photography and ultrawide time-range high-speed photography using a spectrum circuit that produces interval-tunable pulse trains while keeping short pulse durations.

Fuzapladib (FUZ), an inhibitor of leukocyte-function-associated antigen type 1 (LFA-1) activation, a leukocyte adhesion molecule, exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting leukocyte migration into the inflammatory site. In this study, we examined the prophylactic impact of FUZ on POI in a mouse model.

The biological evaluations of these naphthoquinones revealed that ortho-naphthoquinones containing a phenolic hydroxyl group exhibited greater antiproliferative activity compared to compounds without a phenolic hydroxyl group. Among the synthesized para-naphthoquinones, 21, which has a condensed sulfonamide structure, showed substantially higher antiproliferative activity than that of the parent compound, and was also found to inhibit the phosphorylation of STAT3(Y705) in a dose-dependent manner.

Objective: This study aimed to accurately map the lower extremity muscles innervated by the lumbar spinal roots by directly stimulating the spinal roots during surgery.
Summary Of Background Data: Innervation of the spinal roots in the lower extremities has been estimated by clinical studies, anatomic studies, and animal experiments.
Purpose: To evaluate segmental mobility with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis (DLS), upright lateral flexion-extension radiographs (FE) are widely used. However, some authors have described that a combination of lateral radiographs in the standing position and supine sagittal image (SS) reveal more segmental mobility than FE. The purpose of this study was to investigate the optimal method for evaluating segmental mobility with DLS.

For diagnostic cardiac angiography, reference values were as follows: Ka,r: 86, 102, 165 and 264 mGy; PKA: 9.3, 9.

Methods: This study enrolled subjects with mild-to-moderate open angle glaucoma with visually significant cataract who used two or more ophthalmic antiglaucoma agents between 60 and 90y of age. Patients underwent cataract surgery cooperated with either implantation of an iStent (iStent-phaco) or excisional goniotomy with the µLOT (µLOT-phaco).
Study Design: Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected multicenter observational data.
Objective: The aim was to examine the preoperative factors affecting postoperative satisfaction following posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) and microendoscopic muscle-preserving interlaminar decompression (ME-MILD) in patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis (DLS).
Summary Of Background Data: The technique involved in DLS surgery may either be decompression alone or decompression-fixation.
The new 2018 classification of periodontal diseases is reported to be related to tooth loss due to periodontal disease (TLPD) during supportive periodontal therapy (SPT). However, few reports have evaluated this relationship for Asians or have analyzed the association of the new classification and TLPD by distinguishing between active periodontal therapy (APT) and SPT. In this study, we retrospectively applied the new classification to 607 Japanese periodontitis patients and examined the relationship between the new classification and annual TLPD rates per patient during the respective periods.

Abnormal DNA methylation is involved in the initiation and progression of lymphoid tumors. Hence, DNA demethylating agents are promising candidate drugs for chemotherapy against these tumors. The salicylic acid derived anti-inflammatory agent, olsalazine, reportedly suppresses DNA methyltransferase in human cells and has the potential to be clinically applied as a DNA demethylating agent.

Ferrimagnetic rare-earth substituted metal alloys GdFeCo were shown to exhibit the phenomenon of all-optical magnetization switching via femtosecond laser pulses. All-optical magnetization switching has been comprehensively investigated in out-of-plane magnetized GdFeCo films; however, the films with the in-plane magnetic anisotropy have not yet been studied in detail. We report experimental observations of the magnetization switching of in-plane magnetized GdFeCo films by means of the femtosecond laser pulses in the presence of a small magnetic field of about 40 µT.
