- * Lab results showed high liver enzyme levels (AST and ALT) and a significant presence of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA, leading to a diagnosis of chronic active Epstein-Barr virus infection (CAEBV).
- * Unfortunately, the patient died 9 months later from mycotic sepsis, suggesting that CAEBV may have contributed to her initial liver dysfunction and should be considered in similar cases.
