Alexithymia, a psychological condition characterized by emotional suppression, is positively correlated with depression and anxiety and can develop into various mental disorders. Although alexithymia affects 10% of the symptomatic population and 25% of psychiatric patients, there has been a paucity of intervention studies. Even though several effective psychological treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), have been tested in recent years, there is a lack of comprehensive reviews on their efficacy.

Designing CPL-active compounds requires an understanding of the electric transition dipole moment () and the magnetic transition dipole moment () in the excited state. However, while the direction and magnitude of can, to some extent, be visually inferred from chemical structures, remains elusive, posing challenges for direct predictions based on structural information.

Comprehensive tracking of drug delivery systems (DDSs) provides information about the behavior of the drug as well as the fate of the drug carrier after drug release, which is crucial for minimizing side effects. In this study, we labeled peptides designed to carry plasmid DNA with two types of dyes, traditional dye fluorescein and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) dye tetraphenylethylene, and subsequently tracked the DDS through the complementary ON and OFF fluorescence behaviors of the dyes.

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of CRE isolated from hospitals in the city of Nara, Japan.
Methods: We obtained 171 CRE isolates from 16 791 Enterobacterales isolated at 23 hospitals in Nara between January 2018 and December 2021.
Chromic molecules change colour in response to external stimuli and are utilized in applications such as food additive detection, light dimmers, and biological probes. One of the common design strategies for organic chromic molecules is based on changes in the π-conjugation. We have hypothesized that non-alternant polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) skeletons can be used as backbones for chromic molecules.

Compounds with four or six phenylethynyl groups (3,6-PE, 4,6-PE, 5,6-PE, 6,7-PE, and 3,4,6-PE) were also synthesized. The key reaction for the synthesis of these compounds was the Sonogashira reaction using halogen scaffolds.

To design this tetrafluorinated azobenzene scaffold, several synthetic steps are performed to generate a symmetrical tetrafluorinated azobenzene diol. This diol is treated with dimethoxytrityl chloride (DMT-Cl) to protect one of the alcohols.

To find compounds that affect circadian rhythms, we screened mushroom extracts using mouse cells expressing the luciferase gene under the control of the mouse Bmal1 promoter. The culture filtrate extract from the basidiomycete Cyclocybe erebia enhanced the oscillation of bioluminescence caused by the expression of the luciferase gene and prolonged the period of bioluminescence.

Specifically, we use a selective transesterification starting with tris(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) phosphate to afford a dinucleotide derivative phosphate ester. Substitution of the final trifluoroethyl group with various alcohols affords a dinucleotide triester phosphate with a hydrophobic group, which can then be deprotected and converted to a phosphoramidite for incorporation within oligonucleotides.

X-ray analysis and theoretical calculations revealed that multiple twisted molecular structures - dimers, trimers, and tetramers - adopt figure-of-eight, Möbius triangle, and concave rectangle structures, respectively. These homologues have large ϵ values in their UV-vis absorption spectra because of the π-conjugation of the naphthalene-phenylene-naphthalene frameworks.

The tetrafluorinated azobenzene is embedded within the antisense strand of an siRNA duplex to form an ortho-functionalized tetrafluorinated azobenzene-containing siRNA (F-siRNAzo). The F-siRNAzo is inactivated via trans to cis conversion with green light (530 nm), and reactivated with blue light (470 nm) via cis to trans conversion in cell culture.
