Background: To evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of capecitabine (CAP) given every other week and biweekly oxaliplatin (OX; modified CAPOX regimen) in patients with advanced colorectal cancer previously treated with irinote- can-based frontline chemotherapy.
Methods: Sixty-seven patients were enrolled; the median age was 62 years and 62 (92.5%) had a performance status (ECOG) of 0-1.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and activity of a gemcitabine-oxaliplatin combination (GEMOX) regimen in pretreated patients with advanced ovarian cancer. Twenty-seven platinum-refractory/resistant and 14 platinum-sensitive patients received gemcitabine 1500 mg/m2 intravenously in days 1+8 and oxaliplatin 130 mg/m2 in day 8 every 21 days. Ten responses (one complete, nine partial) were observed; five in platinum-sensitive and five in platinum-resistant tumors.

Patients And Methods: Patients with documented disease progression during or after first-line treatment with CPT-11 and 5-FU/LV were enrolled. Gemcitabine (1,000 mg/m(2) days 1 and 8) and oxaliplatin (100 mg/m(2) day 1) were administered every 3 weeks.
To compare the efficacy and toxicity of oxaliplatin (L-OHP) in combination with irinotecan (CPT-11), 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and leucovorin (LV) (FOLFOXIRI) vs irinotecan and 5-FU/LV (FOLFIRI) as first-line treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (MCC). A total of 283 chemotherapy-naïve patients with MCC were enrolled (FOLFIRI arm: n=146; FOLFOXIRI arm: n=137). In the FOLFOXIRI arm, CPT-11 (150 mg m(-2)) was given on d1, L-OHP (65 mg m(-2)) on d2, LV (200 mg m(-2)) on days 2 and 3 and 5-FU (400 mg m(-2) as i.

Flutamide was administered at a dose of 100 mg three times daily continuously until evidence of progression. Partial response observed in 1 of the 23 evaluable patients (4.

We retrospectively studied all cases cytologically diagnosed in our laboratory as HD during a five year period (1990-1994). We also traced cases in which FNA cytology failed to reveal HD and where a subsequent HD diagnosis was made by histology.

Severe emesis remains one of the main extramedullary side-effects of high-dose regimens during the first week of treatment. Traditional antiemetics such as chlorpromazine, diazepam, and phenothiazines are extensively used but are unable to control emesis.

Abdominal pain and weight loss were the main presenting symptoms while there was no palpable disease in the majority of cases.
