Learning Outcomes of Flipped Classroom on Community Health Nursing Course.

Purpose: To improve the quality of community health nursing practice, the learning outcomes of nursing students in community health nursing courses must be enhanced. Although the flipped classroom is considered an effective innovative teaching strategy, evidence of its application in community health nursing courses is limited. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effects of a flipped classroom approach on community nursing competence, academic performance, course engagement, and learning satisfaction for a community health nursing course.

[Reflections on the Prospective Professional Competency of Taiwan Public Health Nurses].

Societal ageing, the rising prevalence of chronic diseases, and the COVID-19 pandemic have changed the global healthcare environment dramatically. These challenges have significantly burdened community medical and healthcare systems and complicated the work of public health nursing. As an important care provider on the frontlines of primary care, public health nurses (PHNs) must keep up with the current state of the medical environment and statistical data interpretation, scientific data translation, community resource sharing, and telehealth applications.

Comparison of the early development of the professional values for nursing students in the traditional program and the second-degree program: a longitudinal study.

Aim: This study aims to compare the early development of professional value between the students in the traditional programme (BSN) and those in the accelerated BSN (ABSN) programmes.

Design: A longitudinal design was conducted.

Methods: Data were collected from three schools of nursing during one academic year.

Perceived stress and social support needs among primary family caregivers of ICU Patients in Taiwan.

Background: Family caregivers of intensive care unit (ICU) patients may experience distress due to their care recipients' unexpected ICU hospitalization. Social support in coping with stress has been discussed from different cultural perspectives, but social support does not seem to buffer stress for Chinese people.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore stress perception and social support needs and their associations among Taiwanese primary family caregivers of patients admitted to the ICU for the first time.

Effectiveness of a Multimedia Patient Education Intervention on Improving Self-care Knowledge and Skills in Patients with Colorectal Cancer after Enterostomy Surgery: A Pilot Study.

Objective: Colorectal cancer is most commonly treated through surgery. Self-care knowledge and skills are instrumental for disease adaptation once the patient returns home. Therefore, this study examined the effects of a multimedia patient education intervention on improving self-care knowledge and skills in patients with colorectal cancer who underwent colostomy surgery.

Evaluation of Electronic Health Records on the Nursing Process and Patient Outcomes Regarding Fall and Pressure Injuries.

Digitalizing the nursing process has become a trend in medical care. The purpose of this study was to evaluate implementation of the Standardized Computerized Nursing Process Documentation System and patient outcomes. We analyzed hospitalized patients' electronic health record database with a total of 19 659 patients in 2015.

Stress, stress-related symptoms and social support among Taiwanese primary family caregivers in intensive care units.

Objectives: To explore the associations between stress, sleep disturbances, fatigue severity and social support among primary family caregivers in intensive care units during the early period of ICU hospitalisation.

Design: Cross-sectional, descriptive correlational study.

Setting: Intensive Care Units in a teaching hospital in Taiwan.

[Reflections on Occupational Health Nursing in Taiwan: Challenges and Perspectives].

The development of the occupational health nursing profession has promoted stable and healthy human resources in Taiwan. In order to improve the occupational safety, health, and healthcare of workers, the professional core competencies and role functions of occupational health nursing is of utmost importance. This article investigated the current status of occupational health nursing education, role functions, practice scope, and the development and responsibilities of professional associations and proposed the challenges to and the future prospects of the development of occupational health nursing in Taiwan.
