[Changes in electrolyte homeostasis in acute loading of the right heart].

The authors carried out experimental studies on electrolyte homeostatis of healty cats and of cats with experimental stenosis of the lung artery after venous infusion of the dextran plasma substitute Reoisodex. There was a statistically significant reduction only of the level of ionized calcium under the influence of the infusion. The authors established an increase of the level of inorganic phosphorus and of the serum bicarbonates in animals with experimental stenosis of the lung artery.

[Effect of thymectomy on the functional activity of the thyroid gland in rats].

The authors examined the functional state of the thyroid gland of rats after thymectomy. The dynamics of incorporation of radioactivity I131 in the gland was examined on the 2,20 and 90th day after the operation. There was increased incorporation of the radioisotope in the thyroid giant at the early stages of the experimental period.

[An experimental study of the absorptive-excretory functions of the liver in acute pancreatitis].

In 24 rabbits, of which 16 test animals - with experimentally induced pancreatitis - and 8 controls, investigation on the resorption-excretory function of the liver was carried out with iodine131, Bengal pink. It is established that acute pancreatitis is accompanied by a substantially rised clearance and progressively falling excretory function of the liver, related to the intravenously injected Bengal pink.
