The aim of the study was to determine the content of lipids and some biologically active substances in the seeds of hypericum perforatum L. , Zea mays L. and overground plants of Equisetum orvense L.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe purpose of the research was to study seed lipids of cultivated plants: Medicago sativa, Ruta graveolens L., Linum usitatissimum L., which are growing on experimental field of I.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe aim of this investigation was the study of lipids from the fruits of usual hazel-nut Corylus avellana L, growing in Georgia. Ripe fruits was collected in the West Georgia, just in Imereti. From the powdered fruits was obtained the sums of neutral and pollar lipids.

Influence of complete transversal section of spinal cord on secretion of hormones by hypothalamo-hypophyseal system under adaptive restoration of hyrosecretory function of kidneys was studied in chronic experiments on 28 dogs. In separate terms after the operation the level of antidiuretic hormones and oxytocin in blood plasma did not correspond to degree of organism's hydration--in contrast to intact animals. The mechanism of reciprocal secretion of hormones into the blood and CSF after the spinal section became disordered.

Antidiuretic and oxytocic activities of venous blood plasma and liquor of ambient cistern of the cerebrum were studied in chronic experiments on alert dogs at different levels of hydration. Liquor was found to have oxytocic activity and practically no antidiuretic activity at ordinary hydration and after two days of thirst. After three days of thirst, dog's liquor caused antidiuretic reaction in rats anesthetized with alcohol, the reaction being lesser than those caused by simultaneously received plasma samples.

Inhibition and stimulation of the effect of oxytocin on milk ejection by vasopressin was demonstrated. On the basis of the principles observed the concentrations fo these hormones were investigated in the plasma of dogs deprived of water for 3 days and then allowed to drink.
