[The evaluation of the transvaginal ultrasonography of endometrial thickness in women with postmenopausal bleeding and suspected endometrial carcinoma].

The aim of our research work was to assess the transvaginal ultrasonography for measurement of endometrial thickness in women with postmenopausal bleeding, and in this way to determine the less invasive treatment. We wanted to make a grading of endometrial cancer, in order to choose patients who need pelvic and para-aortal lymph dissection. We examined 84 patients by ultrasonography and histological examination of the endometrium.

[The early detection and screening of endometrial carcinoma by the progesterone test and uterine sonography].

An attempt was made to examine the efficiency of the progesterone test and uterus sonography for ten-years period. The progesterone test was used for 621 patients, most of them from the University Obstetrics and Gynaecological Hospital in the town of Varna. Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as at the National Oncological Centre, Gynaecological Clinic--Sofia during the last few years.

[The posttherapy survival of patients with invasive cancer of the vulva].

The treatment results and five-years survival are studied in 157 patients with invasive vulvar cancer treated for the period of 1979-1988 in Gynaecological Clinic of the National Oncological Center Institute in Sofia. The general five years survival is 59.2%.

[The reproductive function in women with preinvasive and microinvasive carcinomas of the cervix uteri treated by conization].

An inquiry was carried out on 46 women with preclinical carcinoma of the uterine cervix, treated with conization at the gynecological clinic of the National Oncological Center. Women were at the age of 22 to 38 years. Conization was made on 8 women on account of microinvasive carcinoma with invasion up to 1000 mkm, but on 38 women--on account of carcinoma of 0 degree.
