Background/aim: The prognostic role of tissue PD-L1 expression in endometrial cancer (EC) remains controversial. Moreover, its value in guiding anti-PD1/PD-L1 immunotherapy is questionable. The eventual role of soluble PD-L1 (sPD-L1), released by cancer tissue and circulating immune cells, is largely unexplored.

The secondary objective is the identification of prognostic indicators of survival and recurrence of these patients.
Patients-methods: Retrospective study of treatment in naïve women with locally advanced ovarian cancer treated with cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and HIPEC and compared with those who were treated with cytoreduction alone.

Succession law, which governs the creation and validity of wills, is closely tied to testamentary capacity (TC), the cognitive competence required for a valid will. This study explores TC in acute stroke patients and its connections to demographic and clinical characteristics. The research included first-time stroke patients admitted within 24 hours of symptom onset, meeting specific criteria.

We aimed to detect the correlation between airborne pollen and fungi concentrations in a Mediterranean region with symptom scores.
Methods: A total of 98 patients suffering from AR rated their symptoms at the time of exacerbation using the Total 5 Symptoms Score (T5SS) and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).
Introduction: Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 and the prevalence of Omicron variants have reduced the risk of the severe clinical progress of COVID-19. However, the risk of breakthrough infections has increased, and early administration of an effective antiviral treatment is significant in order to prevent the severe progression of COVID-19 in vulnerable patients with comorbidities.
Patients And Methods: Adults with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection were included in a matched-pair retrospective study based on age, gender, comorbidities and vaccination status.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is considered the most common form of autoimmune arthritis. The disease's prevalence is around 0.5-1% worldwide, but it seems to vary among different populations.

Patients And Methods: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients hospitalised between March 2020 and February 2021 were studied retrospectively. The NLR ratio at admission and FPG increase (day 7, day with maximal FPG) were evaluated in association with the clinical progression of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Background: Adverse antibiotic reactions caused by an immunological mechanism are known as allergic reactions. The percentage of reported antibiotic allergies is likely to differ from the one validated after a drug provocation test (DPT) with the culprit antibiotic. This study aimed to compare the percentage of children who were thought to be allergic to a certain antibiotic with those who have a true allergy, as confirmed by DPTs.

Sleep disturbances could occur in all stages of infection and lead to fatigue, increased risk for comorbidities and reduced adherence to treatment. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the quality of sleep in PLWHIV monitored at the HIV Unit of the University General Hospital of Evros (Greece).

Patients And Methods: We included 132 participants (88 men) with a mean age of 64.57 years and median T2DM duration of 14.
Background: Although several studies on hepatitis B (HBV), C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection have been conducted in Greece, little is known on the knowledge level of the Greek population towards these three infections. Our aim was to assess the knowledge level of the adult Greek general population about the HBV, HCV and HIV.
Methods: Data were derived from the first general population health survey, Hprolipsis.
In several randomized studies, remdesivir (RDV) has been reported to shorten the recovery period and improve clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients, and thus, it is recommended as a standard of care. Nevertheless, controversial reports have been published. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of remdesivir in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 pneumonia at three Greek University Departments of Infectious Diseases with homogenous treatment protocols.

EMENO nationwide survey (2013-2016) assessed the epidemiology of dyslipidemia in the general population in Greece.
Methods: A random sample of adults was drawn by multistage stratified random sampling based on 2011 census.
Background And Objective: Iron deficiency (ID) is a major public health problem with high prevalence in early childhood. We assessed the prevalence of anemia, ID, and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in healthy children of Thrace, Greece, its correlation with several factors, and evaluated the diagnostic performance of hematologic and biochemical markers of sideropenia.
Patients And Methods: For 202 healthy children 1-5 years old, a questionnaire was filled out describing their nutritional habits during infancy and early childhood.
A number of treatment options have been evaluated in order to prevent the severe progression of COVID-19 pneumonia eventually in patients with increased risk due to comorbidities. Remdesivir for a 3-day outpatient course has been associated with a significant lower risk of hospitalization or death. A matched-pair retrospective study was conducted in Department of Infectious Diseases of University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis in order to evaluate the role of remdesivir and vaccination in preventing severe clinical outcome.

Cylindromatosis (CYLD) enzyme is a tumour suppressor, considered an effective prognostic marker in various malignancies, but its role in endometrial carcinoma is not fully elucidated. Here, we sought to estimate the prognostic value of CYLD expression in endometrial carcinoma.

Background: Nationwide data on thyroid disease prevalence in Greece is lacking. Using the national health examination survey EMENO data resources, we aimed to estimate the prevalence of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism and associated risk factors in adults living in Greece.
Methods: A random sample of the adults (≥18 years) living in Greece was drawn by multi-stage stratified random sampling based on the 2011 census.
Materials And Methods: We included 132 subjects (88 men) with a mean age of 64.57 years and median T2DM duration of 14.5 years.

We aimed to estimate the prevalence of smoking, secondhand smoking (SHS) and their potential associations with other socioeconomic and unhealthy lifestyle risk factors.
Methods: EMENO is a cross-sectional health status survey conducted in Greece from May 2013 to June 2016.
