Anion photoelectron spectra of ThSO- and ThS2- were recorded using the third (355 nm) harmonic of an Nd-YAG laser; these provided the measured vertical detachment energies of each anion. The experiments are supported by extensive coupled cluster calculations on ThSO, ThSO-, ThS2, and ThS2-, as well as the oxygen congeners ThO2 and ThO2-. The ab initio calculations, which included complete basis set extrapolations, spin-orbit effects using four-component coupled cluster, and higher-order correlation contributions through CCSDT(Q), yielded an adiabatic electron affinity for ThO2 that was within 0.

Univariate and multivariate analyses demonstrated that the studied species can be divided into four groups as follows: extra-large-sized species (), large-sized species (, and ), medium-sized species (, , , , , and ) and small-sized species (, M.aff.

In this study, we evaluated the incremental cost associated with postoperative sepsis and the impact of postoperative sepsis on clinical outcomes among surgical patients in Vietnam. We used the national database that contained 1,241,893 surgical patients undergoing seven types of surgery.

The biomechanics of skilful walking in wetlands or at the bottom of a waterbody involve the medio-lateral opening and closing of the feet to effectively support and stabilize the body on soft ground and to reduce the water resistance during recovery stroke, respectively. We demonstrate that the opening and closing of the feet in hippopotamus and Brazilian tapir are mediated by the adduction and abduction of the most medial and lateral phalanges from the CT examination.

The taxonomy of the genus has undergone extensive revisions and remains controversial. The current phylogeny is unresolved and was developed primarily on the basis of mitochondrial genes.

A large-scale implementation of the complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) method is presented. The active space is described using the variational two-electron reduced-density-matrix (v2RDM) approach, and the algorithm is applicable to much larger active spaces than can be treated using configuration-interaction-driven methods. Density fitting or Cholesky decomposition approximations to the electron repulsion integral tensor allow for the simultaneous optimization of large numbers of external orbitals.

Methods: This was a before and after study of a hand hygiene program where HH compliance, incidence of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), and costs were analyzed.

Accurate species delimitation in Lepus was often hindered by highly conserved morphology and frequent introgression. In this study, we used rigorous molecular species delimitation methods to evaluate the taxonomic status of Hainan hare (Lepus hainanus) which has been traditionally identified as a distinct species, or a subspecies of Burmese hare (L. peguensis).

By various electrochemical characterization methods, it was demonstrated that the Pr(6)O(11) nanorods have an obviously promotive role for ethanol electrooxidation catalyzed by Pt/C. However, according to the stripping experiment, the promotive effect of Pr(6)O(11) does not result from the easier electrooxidation of the intermediate adsorbate on Pt-Pr(6)O(11)/C than on Pt/C.

Among these shapes, some extreme cases have evolved that include a long noseleaf protrusion (sella) in a species of horseshoe bat. We have evaluated the acoustic cost function associated with sella length with a computational physics approach and found that the extreme length can be predicted accurately from a fiducial point on this function.
