The soft/soft (CoFeO)  : (NiCuZnFeO) (CFO /NCZO ) nanocomposites (NCs) based on spinel ferrites were produced by the sol-gel method with varying phase's ratio ( :  = 0 : 1; 1 : 1; 2 : 1; 3 : 1; 1 : 3; 1 : 2 and 1 : 0). All NCs consisted of 2 single phases (initial spinels) without any impurities and the absence of chemical interaction between phases. Structural features were investigated and analyzed.

Nanocomposite films based on spinel ferrite (MgZnFeAlO) in a PVA matrix were obtained. An increase in the spinel concentration to 10 wt.% caused an avalanche-like rise in roughness due to the formation of nanoparticle agglomerates.

Binary and ternary composites (CM) based on M-type hexaferrite (HF), polymer matrix (PVDF) and carbon nanomaterials (quasi-one-dimensional carbon nanotubes-CNT and quasi-two-dimensional carbon nanoflakes-CNF) were prepared and investigated for establishing the impact of the different nanosized carbon on magnetic and electrodynamic properties. The ratio between HF and PVDF in HF + PVDF composite was fixed (85 wt% HF and 15 wt% PVDF). The concentration of CNT and CNF in CM was fixed (5 wt% from total HF + PVDF weight).

In this work, SrBaPbFeO/(CuFe₂O₄) (x = 2, 3, 4, and 5) as strongly exchange-coupled nanosized ferrites were fabricated using a one-pot sol⁻gel combustion method (citrate sol-gel method). The X-ray diffraction (XRD) powder patterns of the products confirmed the occurrence of pure, exchange-coupled ferrites. Frequency dependencies of the microwave characteristics (MW) were investigated using a co-axial method.

The ability of aliphatic ionenes to recognize and bind DNA or poly(methacrylic acid) (PMA) in the equimolar mixture of these polyanions was studied by fluorescence quenching technique. Within a particular system, the selectivity of competitive interactions was shown to be determined by a component with the lowest degree of polymerization (DP). Ionene polycations with lowest DP values did not exhibit pronounced selectivity in binding DNA or PMA with higher values of DP.

The physicochemical characteristics of a nonviral gene delivery system will govern its functional bioactivity; however, empiricism dominates the literature in this field, and a significant deficiency of quantitative investigation and evaluation of nonviral gene delivery vehicles remains. Herein, we derive a physical model and experimental method to quantitatively determine the binding constants between a model polycationic nonviral gene delivery vehicle poly-L-histidine (PLH) and calf thymus DNA. The approach has utility to a variety of systems and is not limited to the described polymer model.
