An increase in the spread of antibiotic-resistant opportunistic microorganisms causes serious problems in the treatment of purulent infections, burns, and trophic ulcers. We tested the antimicrobial activity in vivo of three polyphenols, Resveratrol, Dihydroquercetin (Taxifolin), and Dihydromyricetin (Ampelopsin) from Norway spruce bark to promote the elimination of and from wounds. Previously transgenic plants producing an antimicrobial peptide cecropin P1 (CecP1) have been reported. Now we report biological testing extracts containing CecP1 as a candidate drug for treatment of wounds infected with The drug constitutes the whole juice from leaves (not ethanol extract) sterilized with nanofiltration. A microbicide activity of CecP1 against an animal fungal pathogen in vivo was demonstrated for the first time.

A modified variant of the β-galactosidase gene from Escherichia coli (lacZ) has been obtained. This was designed for building transcriptional reporter constructs, the product of which possesses a higher proteolytic resistance in the Yarrowia lipolytica yeasts. The study of the activity of mitochondrial voltagedependent porin (voltage-dependent anion channel, VDAC) showed a high efficiency of the reporter system based on the designed lacZ reporter compared to the wild-type lacZ gene.

None of the studied eukaryotic species has a natural system for homologous recombination of the mitochondrial genome. We propose an integrated genetic construct pQ-SRUS, which allows introduction of the recA gene from Bacillus subtilis into the nuclear genome of an extremophilic yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica. The targeting of recombinant RecA to the yeast mitochondria is provided by leader sequences (5'-UTR and 3'-UTR) derived from the SOD2 gene mRNA, which exhibits affinity to the outer mitochondrial membrane and thus provides cotranslational transport of RecA to the inner space of the mitochondria.

By using NGS-sequencing libraries of DNA from periodontal swabs with primers specific to V6 region of 16S rDNA prevalence of bacterial genera and species in periodontal microbiota of patients with aggressive periodontitis and healthy donors was analyzed. Six genera of putative periodontal protectors and eight periodontal pathogens were identified with respect to aggressive (but not chronic) periodontitis. Statistically relevant over-colonization by general Porphyromonas, Treponema, Synergistes, Tannerella, Filifactor, Ruminococcus, Parvimonas and Mycoplasma was found to be associated with the condition.
