Background: There are very few reports of intradural disc herniations associated with achondroplasia described in the literature.
Case Description: A patient with achondroplasia presented with progressive paraparesis attributed to a magnetic resonance-documented intradural disc herniation at the T12-L1 level occupying more than 90% of the spinal canal. It was successfully removed through a T12 laminectomy with durotomy; note a laminectomy would have been contraindicated if this had been an extradural anterior/anterolateral disc.
The current study explored whether positive contact through stories could influence how young children think about transgender identities and gender in general. A total of 174 children ages 5-6 and 9-10 were randomly assigned to one of three conditions: Jazz (participants watched a video regarding a transgender child named Jazz), Blue (participants watched a video regarding a marker that looked red on the outside but inside was really blue) and control (no video). Both videos described the main character as feeling different inside than outside, and their social transition to their preferred identity; researcher scaffolding supported the video messages.

We sought to identify subgroups of adolescents' ECV and examine how after-school activities are related to exposure subgroups across two samples.

Immunoblotting using an antiserum raised against an affinity-purified vasopressin receptor showed a 55,000 daltons protein band that has a molecular mass similar to that of the liver V1 vasopressin receptor, as demonstrated by cross-linking studies. Immunoblotting of the antibody showed a band of 55,000 daltons in A-10 cells, which contains the V1 subtype, whereas it did not stain LLC-PK1 cells, which possess the V2 subtype, showing that the antibody recognizes the V1 vasopressin receptor.

Antisera against prolactin and growth hormones did not stain cells in the pituitary of Austromenidia, whereas antisera against beta-endorphin, LH, and beta-TSH selectively cross-reacted with cells which have a specific location within the adenohypophysis. The beta-endorphin antiserum stained the periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)-negative cells in the pars intermedia and also, though faintly, the PAS-negative cells in the internal border of the rostral pars distalis (RPD).

The level of binding proteins in normal "young" men decreased approximately 45% in normal "older" men. A 100% rise was observed in BPH patients as compared to normal older men.
