Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is an extremely rare and disabling inherited genetic skin disease with a predisposition to develop bullous lesions on the skin and inner mucous membranes, occurring after mild friction or trauma, or even spontaneously. Within the spectrum of EB forms, dystrophic EB (DEB) represents the most intriguing and challenging in terms of clinical management, especially with regard to pregnancy, due to the highly disabling and life-threatening phenotype. Disappointingly, in the literature little focus has been directed towards pregnancy and childbirth in DEB patients, resulting in a lack of sound evidence and guidance for patients themselves and clinicians.

Methods: A systematic mapping method was chosen. Studies were included if they: (1) focused on a population with: (a) mental health disorders, (b) protected or other characteristics putting them at risk of experiencing mental health inequalities; (2) addressed an intervention focused on addressing mental health inequalities; and (3) met criteria for one or more of three research questions: (i) primary research studies (any study design) or systematic reviews reporting effectiveness findings for an intervention or interventions, (ii) studies reporting economic evaluation findings, (iii) primary research studies (any study design) or systematic reviews identifying or describing, potential barriers or facilitators to interventions.

A simple method for the isolation and purification of alpha-galactosides, raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs), from legumes has been developed. The method includes (i) imbibition of seeds, (ii) extraction with 50% ethanol, (iii) precipitation of RFOs, (iv) purification of RFOs on diatomaceous earth and charcoal, and (v) cation-exchange chromatography. The described method allows one to obtain high purity RFO preparations (90% for lentil and 80% for pea seeds, determined by HPLC-RI analysis) in the form of white, fine powder.

Biological activity of some vitamin B12 forms for Escherichia coli 113-3 and the effect of methionine on the assay of these compounds by E. coli 113-3 were studied. It was found that the coenzymatic form had the highest biological activity and that under experimental conditions methionine was an interfering factor in determination of the coenzymatic form and the methyl derivative of B12 only.
