Tailored breast imaging during the first wave and preparedness for the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus has changed the way patient care is provided worldwide. This review focuses on the description of the operational measures implemented in a breast imaging department in accordance with existing recommendations for the treatment of breast cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic to make optimal use of finite resources without interruption of essential imaging services for breast cancer patients. It will also apply during a second-wave of the pandemic, which, according to experts, is inevitable and requires us to be better prepared.

Imaging of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Emergencies in Binge Drinking.

Excess alcohol consumption is a leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality globally. The pattern of consumption of alcoholic beverages has changed in our society in the recent past, with binge drinking becoming more and more common, especially among young adults. Abdominal pain following alcohol consumption can be secondary to a wide range of pathologies, the treatment algorithm of which can range from medical supportive treatment to more invasive life-saving procedures such as transarterial embolization and emergency laparotomy.

Proximal Ulna: A Rare Location for Solitary Intraosseous Hemangioma.

Intraosseous hemangiomas are rare, benign bone tumors usually affecting the bones of the axial skeleton. Its incidence in the long bones is extremely rare. We report a 19-year-old boy with solitary intraosseous hemangioma of the proximal ulna.

Vomiting-induced short gastric artery apoplexy.

Abdominal apoplexy due to short gastric artery rupture following vomiting is an exceedingly rare condition. It results from non-traumatic and non-iatrogenic causes. This entity has variable clinical presentation and patients usually present with non-specific abdominal pain.

Twistin' the night away: gallbladder torsion accompanying large bowel malignancy.

Gallbladder (GB) torsion is a rare surgical emergency seen in the elderly. It occurs due to the rotation of the gallbladder along the axis of the cystic artery and cystic duct. This study aimed to report a case of an acute GB torsion in an elderly female patient diagnosed by multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT).

Tuberculous osteomyelitis and spondylodiscitis.

Tuberculosis (TB) is no longer a disease limited to developing nations and is still a major cause of significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. The indolent clinical presentation, emergence of multidrug-resistant mycobacteria, and association with human immunodeficiency virus infection poses obstacles for early diagnosis and management. Compared with the other forms of TB, musculoskeletal involvement is relatively rare.
