Crystal structure, Hirshfeld surface analysis, conduction mechanism and electrical modulus study of the new organic-inorganic compound [CHNO]HgBr.

There has been a lot of interest in the development of a novel hybrid material based on mercury that has fascinating structural properties. In this paper, single crystals of [CHNO]HgBr was successfully synthesized by the slow evaporation method at room temperature. In fact, the latter crystallizes in the orthorhombic system ( space group) with cell parameters = 20.

Ferroelectric properties and Raman spectroscopy of the [(CH)N]BiCl compound.

The exploration of ferroelectric hybrid materials is highly appealing due to their great technological significance. They have the potential to conserve power and amazing applications in information technology. In line with this, we herein report the development of a [(CH)N]BiCl tetra-alkyl hybrid compound that exhibits ferroelectric properties.

[Uncommon retroperitoneal and bone lesions: Erdheim-Chester disease].

We report a case of Erdheim-Chester disease, revealed by a polyuropolydipsic syndrome. During the patient's work-up, osteocondensing lesions were found; the biopsy of these lesions showed an infiltration by spumous cells of histiocytic lineage, CD68+, CD1a-, associated with a lymphoid infiltrate within an extensive fibrosis. Lung and retroperitoneal lesions were discovered.

[Clinical case of the month. Histological discovery of a lung cancer in an enormous emphysematous bulla].

The development of a lung cancer in young patients with emphysematous bullae is a classical, albeit rare, event. These patients can however be operated upon for the resection of a giant bulla causing respiratory distress. We report the case of a 41 year old male patient who was submitted to the resection of a giant right apical emphysematous bulla.

Aortic valve replacement for infective endocarditis in a renal transplant recipient.

Renal transplant recipients are more prone to developing infections. We report a 37-year old renal transplant recipient who developed infective endocarditis of the aortic valve, heart failure and renal allograft dysfunction. He underwent aortic valve replacement which was followed by improvement in cardiac as well as allograft function.

Simultaneous bronchopleural and esophagopleural fistulas after pneumonectomy.

The simultaneous occurrence of bronchopleural fistula (BPF) and esophagopleural fistula (EPF) after pneumonectomy is very rare. We describe a 60-year-old man who developed empyema associated with bronchopleural fistula as a complication of a right pneumonectomy. Initial chest tube drainage and antibiotic therapy were ineffective.
