Purpose: The aim of this study is to assess agreement between retrospectively and prospectively collected patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) following hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS).

Methods: Patients undergoing hip arthroscopy from 2021 to 2023 for FAIS completed preoperative PROMs, including the modified Harris Hip Score (mHHS) and the Non-Arthritic Hip Score (NAHS). Post-operatively, patients were surveyed and asked to recall their preoperative hip function.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the inter-rater reproducibility and inter-method comparability of hip alpha angle measurements on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/magnetic resonance arthrography (MRA) and plain radiographs in patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS).

Methods: A cross-sectional study of patients who were diagnosed with symptomatic FAIS underwent preoperative MRI/MRA with axial oblique and/or radial plane imaging and had preoperative radiographs with anterior-posterior (AP), 45° Dunn and 90° Dunn views. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the association between sagittal tibial tuberosity-trochlear groove (sTT-TG) distance and patellofemoral chondral lesion size in patients undergoing cartilage restoration procedures.

Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis of patients who underwent an osteochondral allograft transplantation or matrix-induced autologous chondrocyte implantation in the patellofemoral compartment, from 2010 to 2020, were included if they had patellofemoral high-grade lesions, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and minimum 2-year follow-up. The preoperative sTT-TG distance was measured independently on axial T2-weighted MRI sequences by two authors, each at least two weeks apart.

Background: An increased posterior tibial slope (PTS) is a risk factor for primary anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears and graft failure, but the PTS has not been well-defined in those who have experienced bilateral ACL injuries.

A 48-year-old man with hypertension and hypercholesterolemia was referred with an abnormal ECG showing signs of myocardial ischemia and structural change consistent with ventricular hypertrophy. Upon further workup with MRI, echocardiogram, and exercise stress test with perfusion images, it was determined that the man had no cardiac abnormalities. Ten years later, the patient developed structural changes consistent with the abnormal ECG.

Reaction-rate modifications for chemical processes due to strong coupling between reactant molecular vibrations and the cavity vacuum have been reported; however, no currently accepted mechanisms explain these observations. In this work, reaction-rate constants were extracted from evolving cavity transmission spectra, revealing resonant suppression of the intracavity reaction rate for alcoholysis of phenyl isocyanate with cyclohexanol. We observed up to an 80% suppression of the rate by tuning cavity modes to be resonant with the reactant isocyanate (NCO) stretch, the product carbonyl (CO) stretch, and cooperative reactant-solvent modes (CH).

Modeling the non-equilibrium dissipative dynamics of strongly interacting quantized degrees of freedom is a fundamental problem in several branches of physics and chemistry. In this paper we present the design of an open-source and low-cost buoy prototype for remote monitoring of water quality variables in fish farming. The designed battery-powered system periodically measures temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen, transmitting the information locally through a low-power wide-area network protocol to a gateway connected to a cloud service for data storage and visualization. We provide a novel buoy design that can be easily constructed with off-the-shelf materials, delivering a stable anchored float for the IoT device and the probes immersed in the water pond.

We present a detailed theoretical survey of the electronic structure of excited states of the CO molecule, with the aim of providing a well-defined theoretical framework for the quantum dynamical studies at energies beyond 12 eV from the ground state. One of the major goals of our work is to emphasize the need for dealing with the presence of both molecular valence and Rydberg states. Although a CASSCF/MRCI approach can be used to appropriately describe the lowest-lying valence states, it becomes incapable of describing the upper electronic states due to the exceedingly large number of electronic excitations required.

Nanoscale infrared (IR) resonators with sub-diffraction limited mode volumes and open geometries have emerged as new platforms for implementing cavity quantum electrodynamics at room temperature. The use of IR nanoantennas and tip nanoprobes to study strong light-matter coupling of molecular vibrations with the vacuum field can be exploited for IR quantum control with nanometer spatial and femtosecond temporal resolution. In order to advance the development of molecule-based quantum nanophotonics in the mid-IR, we propose a generally applicable semi-empirical methodology based on quantum optics to describe light-matter interaction in systems driven by mid-IR femtosecond laser pulses.

We address topics related to molecules coupled to quantum radiation. The formalism of light-matter interaction is different for classical and quantum fields, but some analogies remain, such as the formation of light induced crossings. We show that under particular circumstances, the molecular dynamics under quantum or classical fields produce similar results, as long as the radiation is prepared as a Fock state and far from ultra-strong coupling regimes.
