Thoracic aortic aneurysms are considered more dangerous than abdominal aneurysms because they are often silent until rupture and, therefore, are more challenging to diagnose and have a high mortality rate. In addition, a thoracic aneurysm differs from an abdominal one in terms of causes and risk factors: the former is associated with the degeneration of the vessel's middle tunica, while the latter is related to atherosclerosis. We report the case of the sudden death of a 20-year-old man, with no apparent risk factors and suffering only from a persistent cough for a month, in whom the autopsy revealed the rupture of a massive aneurysm of the ascending thoracic aorta.

Background: The mechanisms that modulate the onset of acute kidney inlury (AKI) after ischemic stroke (IS) and valuable biomarkers to predict the occurrence and prognosis of AKI among patients with IS are missing.
Objective: To evaluate the frequency of AKI and the prognostic validity of clinical and laboratory biomarkers in predicting AKI and short-term mortality after the IS.
Methods: Ninety-five patients with IS were enrolled.
We investigated the relationship between some water quality parameters and microcystin, chlorophyll-a, and cyanobacteria in different conditions of water temperature. We also proposed to predict chlorophyll-a concentration in the Billings Reservoir using three machine learning techniques. Our results indicate that in the condition of higher water temperatures with high density of cyanobacteria, microcystin concentration can increase severely (>10 μg/L).

Design: Twenty male Wistar rats were randomly assigned into two experimental groups: OAC: animals subjected to induction of osteoarthritis, without therapeutic intervention and the group OAL: animals subjected to induction of osteoarthritis treated with light-emitting diode photobiomodulation therapy (850 nm, 200 mW, 6 J).
Results: The results of gait analysis showed no statistical difference between the groups.
Endometriosis is a local pelvic inflammatory process, frequently associated with infertility, with altered function of immune-related cells in the peritoneal environment. Mast cells are known to be key players of the immune system and have been recently involved in endometriosis and in infertility, with their mediators directly suppressing sperm motility. We find that low work quality strongly correlates with the desire to retire as soon as possible of "young-old" workers.
