3 patients with secondary acute non-lymphoblastic leucosis have been observed. The cytogenetic analysis revealed pathologic karyotypes: 46, XY,+8, t(8;21), inv 16. Two patients have been found with typical markers of damaged chromosome of radiation origion.

Of these, there were 20 persons exposed to ionizing radiation due to the Chernobyl accident and 32 patients with spontaneous disease. Leukemic cells in patients with radiation-associated AML compared to spontaneous cases more often were P-glycoprotein positive (12/20 vs 9/32, P<0,05).

The data secured are discussed from the standpoint of using them as prognostic criteria of the course of CML.

It has been found out that in IDA, decline in the concentration of Hb correlates with augmentation of the content of Met-Hb (r = -0.670, P = 0.

The authors have reached the conclusion that drug tolerance in the patients is fairly good. The number of negative reactions within a few days of the start of laferon therapy did not exceed the level reported from other countries.

Hemopoietic cell immunophenotyping was carried out with the use of cytofluorometer FACScan and chromosome cytogenetic analysis with the use of analyzer "Metascan". It has been shown that in the AML M1 blast cell plasmatic membrane carries pan-myeloid CD33 and CD13 antigens, the last having high density of expression, and the CD38 antigen, which is a myeloid cell-precursor marker.

The studies made confirmed a positive impact of IT on the clinical course of acute leukosis (prolonged remission, keeping down infectious complications), on leukopoiesis, peripheral blood cells enzymatic status as well as on cell immunity, certain factors of humoral immunity and bodily natural antineoplastic resistance.

It includes bcr-genomic probes and polymerase chain reaction with specific bcr/abl primers. The latter is more preferable for clinic use.

Furthermore, the method of combined use of drugs, attempted for the first time, permitted the functional activity of the lymphoid system to be improved, with the clinical and hematological compensation being achieved in a shorter space of time.

Some aspects are considered of haemopoiesis and stromal elements together with morphological features of the medical problem in question in present-day environmental health-hazard conditions. With AML and CML running aggressive course, the incidence rates of granulocytic and megakaryocytic CML being on the increase, the outlook for tomorrow is not bright.

The study comprised 5578 individuals. The examinees were liquidators of the Chernobyl accident sequels (n = 1052), inhabitants of Pripyat evacuated from the town (n = 850), the Kiev SSBT primary donors (n = 1738).

An analysis of results revealed the presence of hematologic changes that may be interpreted as sequels of the effect of ionizing radiation on the body, while other changes may be considered as reactive and may in most cases accompany different somatic diseases of infectious-inflammatory character.

The safe doze of CFW to be used as a fertilizer was determined to be 3 g per 1 kg of soil (10 t/ha).
