Policy adjustments can help strike a balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability, which has increasingly been the heart to nations and regions throughout the World. This paper examines how public investment affects economic growth, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions in eight ASEAN countries: Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Extension of a Cobb-Douglas production function and application of panel cointegration techniques reveal bidirectional Granger causation between public investment and both private development and CO2 emissions from 1980 to 2019.

In this study, a colorimetric method based on cysteine-encapsulated liposomes was examined using gold nanoparticles as a probe to provide a platform to report an enzymatic activity at lipid membranes. The cysteine-encapsulated liposomes were prepared with varying ratios of 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DMPC) and cholesterol through the hydration of lipid films and extrusions in the presence of cysteine.

This study explored the cysteine (Cys)-induced aggregation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in order to develop a sensitive colorimetric detection method for Cys. For this purpose, we systematically investigated the colorimetric response of AuNPs to Cys with varying particle sizes and concentrations.

The permeability glycoprotein (P-gp) is an important factor dictating drug access to the cells, as it controls the efflux of chemotherapeutic agents against the concentration gradient. Pmd1, a P-gp-like protein, was recently isolated as a doxorubicin resistance gene in fission yeast.
