Unlabelled: Obesity represents a critical public health concern, often linked to low-grade chronic inflammation starting in childhood. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a 12-week kinesiotherapy program on physical performance and levels of leptin and C-reactive protein (CRP) in overweight and obese children.
Methods: Conducted at the Filantropia Municipal Clinical Hospital, 160 children aged 6 to 15 were randomly assigned to a study group (SG, n = 80) and a control group (CG, n = 80).
Sarcopenia is a degenerative disorder that particularly affects older people and is defined by a pathological decrease in muscle strength. This disease represents one of the topics of great interest in the medical world of the last two decades. In our study, we tried to underline the importance of an adapted recovery program based on physical exercise for regaining clinical and functional status in patients with age-related sarcopenia.

This research study aimed to comprehensively assess muscle strength changes through muscle testing, complemented by functional tests evaluating factors contributing to disability in patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation (LDH) and associated motor impairment, following a complex rehabilitation protocol incorporating HIL therapy.
Methods: A total of 133 individuals with LDH and motor deficits were divided into two groups.
Background: Obstructive ventilatory dysfunctions have an increased incidence, and through functional assessment determined by the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), appropriate treatment can be established.
Aims: The objectives of our research are represented by the application of respiratory rehabilitation sessions according to the ICF in patients with obstructive ventilatory dysfunctions-with COPD or asthma, using a unique, international language and the evaluation of the results obtained before and after completion pulmonary rehabilitation.
Methods: We conducted a randomized prospective study between November 2022-April 2023, which included 84 patients diagnosed with obstructive ventilatory dysfunctions and who performed respiratory rehabilitation.
The first lung transplant (LT) was made in Romania in 2018 at a 36-year-old male patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The study follows the first LT rehabilitation by describing the physical therapy program (PTP), the measurements of body mass and appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM) by bio-impedancemetry analysis (BIA) and the functional capacity assessment realized by the six-minute walk test (6MWT) and by the functional respiratory tests (FRTs) in order to evaluate the effectiveness of functional respiratory rehabilitation in this case during a period of one year. In parallel, repeated transbronchial biopsies were performed after six weeks, three months, six months and one year since the transplant.

The last decade is characterized through an increased interest in using a non-specific, simply and readily available marker of inflammation-neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR)-to predict various chronic diseases (gastrointestinal and colorectal cancers, lung cancer, cardiovascular events, sarcoidosis, arthritis). The aim of our study is to establish the correlation between NLR and other parameters of clinical and functional status in KOA patients and to compare the NLR values before and after rehabilitation program.

Thus, a new disease was registered-COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019). Our study followed the patients who had the diagnosis of obstructive ventilatory dysfunction in their personal pathological antecedents, who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection.

However, due to the nature of bipedal gait, OA in the lower limb can also cause pathological gait patterns, which can generate instability and falls, with great consequence, especially in the aged population. With goniometry used to evaluate the range of motion (ROM) of joints, we wanted to evaluate how gender impacts gait dynamics in OA patients.

Following the transfusion of D-positive red blood cells (RBCs), almost 80% of D-negative recipients develop anti-D antibodies (Abs). Subsequently, anti-D immunization further promotes the synthesis of Abs towards other blood group antigens in or outside the Rh system.

The female patient diagnosed with hypoplastic uterus and hereditary thrombophilia had a favorable evolution under properly administered anticoagulant treatment. The homozygous status for the C677T mutation may lead to an increase in plasma homocysteine levels, especially in pregnant women, being an associated risk factor for thrombosis.

Four stages have been described in its evolution: asymptomatic hyperuricemia, acute gouty arthritis, intercritical gout and chronic tophaceous gout. Monosodium urate crystals deposits are more frequently encountered in hyaline cartilage, tendon sheaths, articular bursae, bone epiphysis, synovium, and skin.

The objective of the study was to determine the number of patients with LBP who presented to the general practitioner 's (GP) office between October 2019 and March 2020, to determine risk factors, favoring factors and their correlation with clinical data obtained after performing the clinical examination, with paraclinical data obtained by imaging investigation. 347 patients, aged between 17 and 82 years, were included in the study, presenting a sex ratio of men: women of approximately 2: 1.

The complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a neuropathic disorder, often precipitated by a fracture, injury of the soft tissue or a surgical procedure followed by extended immobilization. Clinical signs and symptoms of this syndrome include abnormalities of pain processing (mechanical and thermal allodynia, hyperalgesia and hyperpathia), skin changes regarding local temperature and the presence of erythema, cyanosis or mottled appearance, neurogenic edema, motor and trophic disorders. The CRPS has three evolutionary stages-acute, dystrophic and atrophic, and it is divided into two types, reflecting the absence or presence of nerve damage.

The reference diagnosis remains the HP confirmation from the lesional tissue. The current report illustrates the case of a 74-year-old patient, diagnosed with MTBCC consequently to the biopsy from the clinically malignant lesion with HP and immunohistochemical examination, currently in clinical remission following surgical treatment.

We established that the complete rehabilitation program (diet, symptomatic medication and herbal products, electrotherapy measures and kinetic exercises) will give the optimal healthcare for this type of patients.

The aim of our observational study for patients with symptomatic KOA was to investigate the changes of C-terminal telopeptide of type II collagen (CTX-II) in serum pre and post a complex rehabilitation program and to establish the correlation between all studied parameters [clinical, functional, serum CTX-II (sCTX-II) and histological aspects obtained through arthroscopy]. During 2016-2017, we performed an observational study including 24 patients, between 59 and 76 years old, diagnosed with KOA.

Shockwave therapy is based on generating a very intense energy in a very short period of time. It creates a mechanical pressure over the affected tissues that leads to an increased cellular permeability, thus increasing the microcirculation and the cellular metabolism. Therefore, the healing process is accelerated.

Most often, it is described as soft tissue lesions, but deeper structures like tendons, ligaments, muscles, cartilage or bones can be affected. All extremities can be involved; lesions can lead to necrosis and amputations.

At the level of the area affected by the ischemic phenomenon, there are two types of events, in the first stage there is necrosis of the cellular elements, followed by a reparatory phase of the spongy bone tissue. The objective of the study was the histological and immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis of bone metabolism in the repair phase.
