[Peripheral pulmonary artery aneurysm treated with embolization].

Althogh peripheral pulmonary aneurysm is a rare entity, the majority of cases become fatal if left untreated, due to sudden rupture and exsanguination. This emphasizes the need for treatment whenever a diagnosis made. A 81-year-old woman was found to have a coin lesion in the left middle field.

Transient occlusion procedure with a catheter for peripheral pulmonary artery damage caused by percutaneous drainage for lung abscess.

The patient was a 78-year-old man who had liver and lung abscesses. Percutaneous drainage was performed for the lung abscess. While the drainage was successful for both abscesses, a drainage tube injured the peripheral pulmonary artery, causing hemorrhage and hemosputum.

Noninvasive thymoma in the middle mediastinum.

We present a rare case of thymoma that developed entirely in the middle mediastinum. A 60-year-old woman was referred to our hospital with a mediastinal mass. The mass was located in the visceral compartment of Shields' mediastinal classification.

Diagnosis and surgical treatment of ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone-producing pulmonary tumors accompanied by Cushing syndrome.

Malignant pulmonary tumors are rarely accompanied by Cushing syndrome. We encountered 4 patients with adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)-producing pulmonary tumors (3 with carcinoid and 1 with small cell carcinoma). All patients were females aged 33-76 years.

Bronchoplasty with plication of the proximal bronchial membranous portion.

Bronchoplasty originally designed for patients with inadequate pulmonary function who cannot tolerate pneumonectomy, has recently yielded good results as well as offering an alternative to pneumonectomy. We describe a technique for plication of the proximal bronchial membranous portion when there is significant discrepancy in lumen size between the main and the segmental bronchi to allow precise end-to-end anastomosis. Plication helps prevent postoperative anastomotic stenosis and obstruction.
