Drug resistance is a major obstacle in cancer treatment. Herein, four novel organometallic complexes, with the general formula [Ru(η--cymene)(HL)Cl]Cl and [Rh(η-CMe)(HL)Cl]Cl, were developed to target multidrug-resistant (MDR) cancer cells, where HL denotes 8-hydroxyquinoline-derived Mannich bases (HQCl-pyr and HQCl-pip). Human single-stranded DNA binding protein 1 (hSSB1/NABP2/OBFC2B) plays central roles in DNA repair. Here, we show that purified hSSB1 undergoes redox-dependent liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) in the presence of single-stranded DNA or RNA, features that are distinct from those of LLPS by bacterial SSB. hSSB1 nucleoprotein droplets form under physiological ionic conditions in response to treatment modeling cellular oxidative stress.

In this article, we celebrate Dante Cicchetti's extensive contributions to the discipline of developmental psychopathology. In his seminal article, he articulated why developmental psychopathology was imperative to create research portfolios that could inform the causes, consequences, and trajectories for adults often initiated by early lived experiences (Cicchetti, 1984). In this three-part article, we share our transdisciplinary efforts to use developmental psychopathology as a foundational theory from which to develop, implement, and evaluate interventions for populations who experienced early adversity or who were at risk for child abuse and neglect.

The aim of this study was to provide a beneficial treatment effect of novel chitosan bio-polymeric material enriched with mesenchymal stem cell products derived from the canine adipose tissue (AT-MSC) on the artificial skin defect in a rabbit model. For the objectivity of the regeneration evaluation, we used histological analysis and a scoring system created by us, taking into account all the attributes of regeneration, such as inflammatory reaction, necrosis, granulation, formation of individual skin layers and hair follicles. We observed an acceleration and improvement in the healing of an artificially created skin defect after eight and ten weeks in comparison with negative control (spontaneous healing without biomaterial).
