Regenerative medicine: characterization of human bone matrix gelatin (BMG) and folded platelet-rich fibrin (F-PRF) membranes alone and in combination (sticky bone).

During the last two decades autologous platelet and leukocyte rich products (PRP; PRF), opened new perspectives in regenerative medicine. In particular regenerative dentistry played a pioneer role in the application of these products in bone regenerative cases. Many aspects of cytokines, such as, growth factor release, blood cell content and its characterization were reported, but some practical questions are still unanswered in the preparation of PRF membranes and sticky bones.

Tramadol/dexketoprofen (TRAM/DKP) compared with tramadol/paracetamol in moderate to severe acute pain: results of a randomised, double-blind, placebo and active-controlled, parallel group trial in the impacted third molar extraction pain model (DAVID study).

Objectives: To compare efficacy/safety of oral tramadol 75 mg/dexketoprofen 25 mg (TRAM/DKP) and TRAM 75 mg/paracetamol 650 mg (TRAM/paracetamol) in moderate to severe pain following surgical removal of impacted lower third molar.

Design: Multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase IIIb study.

Participants: Healthy adult patients scheduled for surgical extraction of at least one fully/partially impacted lower third molar requiring bone manipulation.

[Distractios osteogenesis in maxillofacial surgery].

For more than one decade the extremity surgery already used distraction osteogenesis. This new therapy in the region of the maxillofacial surgery (in the case of malformation of the maxilla and mandible) was adapted from the extremity surgeons. The authors summarized and classified the methods and history of the osteodistraction surgery based on literature.
