Background: The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors for an adverse outcome after endovascular therapy (EVT) for critical limb ischemia (CLI) with tissue loss due to infrainguinal artery disease.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the charts of patients with tissue loss (Rutherford class 5 and 6) due to infrainguinal artery disease who were managed with endovascular therapy (EVT) between January 2006 and December 2013. The primary endpoint was amputation-free survival (AFS), while the secondary endpoints were freedom from a major adverse limb event (MALE) plus perioperative (30 days) death (POD), limb salvage, and survival rates at one year.
