Purpose: Although surgery is the primary treatment for lung cancer, some patients experience recurrence at a certain rate. If postoperative recurrence can be predicted early before treatment is initiated, it may be possible to provide individualized treatment for patients. Thus, in this study, we propose a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system that predicts postoperative recurrence from computed tomography (CT) images acquired before surgery in patients with lung adenocarcinoma using a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN).

However, the best treatment approach for such large and marginally resectable GISTs remains unclear. The survival of patients with clinically malignant GISTs or GISTs with incomplete resection was as short as 1-2 years.

CT and arterial perfusion scintigraphy were performed in patients with liver metastases from gastric or colorectal cancer. Biochemical data and tumor marker levels of 33 enrolled patients were measured.

Materials And Methods: Dynamic CT was done in six IPMT and nine IDAC cases. In the IPMT cases, we made a histological map of the tumor.
Spontaneous isolated dissecting aneurysm of the main trunk of the superior mesenteric artery is a rare condition. We treated a patient with this condition successfully by stent-assisted coil embolization. Intravascular stent placement may widen the indications for endovascular coiling of the aneurysmal false lumen to avoid perforation.

We developed a teleradiology system linking a general hospital on Sado Island to tertiary care hospitals in Niigata City. The island is 40 km from Niigata City on the mainland and has only one diagnostic radiologist (for 72,000 islanders). Fibre optic cables between Sado Island and Niigata City were used for transmission.
