Background: The uterus at premature birth being thick and sensitive, we applied nitroglycerin (NTG) to relax the uterus during cesarean delivery for the low birthweight baby.
Methods: Twelve parturients of impending premature birth and nine of severe intoxication were included. General anesthesia was induced with thiamylal, and maintained with 5% inhaled sevoflurane.

Diltiazem and nicardipine, when injected as a mixture during anesthesia, reduce blood pressure in an additive manner without changing heart rate. The author evaluated the use of this mixture for controlling the blood pressure during emergence from general anesthesia and at extubation. The subjects included 15 preoperative hypertensive (HT) patients who underwent various types of surgery and 18 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) who underwent clipping of a cerebral aneurysm.

We evaluated the technical and clinical usefulness of CSE with this needle set, and also isobaric tetracaine, for cesarean section.
Methods: Thirty patients for cesarean section were included.
