Although dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) has been widely used for measuring body composition, discrepancies have been reported to exist among results obtained from different instruments. In the course of longitudinal studies lasting for many years, old instruments may be required to be replaced with new ones, necessitating comparison and validation between the values obtained by the old and new instruments. We compared the data obtained by the two fan-beam DXA instruments, QDR-2000 (Hologic, Waltham, MA) and Delphi (Hologic).
