For example, an atomic-level understanding of electrochemical Pt dissolution and redeposition behavior is crucial for optimizing the material design and operating conditions of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs). This understanding enables the prevention of the degradation of Pt nanoparticles used as electrocatalysts.
