Renal cell carcinoma with intraluminal spread of the entire upper urinary tract.

We describe an unusual case of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) involving the entire upper urinary tract. A 51-year-old female was referred to us because of macroscopic hematuria. Computed tomography revealed a renal tumor filling renal pelvis and ureter, which turned to be a clear cell RCC after nephroureterectomy.

Liquid sclerotherapy for posttraumatic arteriovenous fistula of the radialis indicis artery.

We report the case of a 40-year-old woman with posttraumatic arteriovenous fistula of the right radialis indicis artery. The patient was admitted because a pulsatile lesion appeared on her hand after blunt trauma. Liquid sclerotherapy using 3% polidocanol in combination with distal protection using the rubber band technique was undertaken, which resulted in complete disappearance of the arteriovenous fistula.

[Efficacy of FEC and trastuzumab/docetaxel combination therapy for metastatic breast cancer].

A 56-year-old female visited our department due to bleeding from a mass in her left breast in November 2007. There was a tumor (diameter, 5 cm) accompanied by ulcer formation and fixation to the pectoral muscle, centering on the left breast Carea. CT examination showed multiple lung metastasis and liver metastasis.

Magnetic resonance imaging of the metal clip in a breast: safety and its availability as a negative marker.

Purpose: This study assesses magnetic resonance (MR) safety of the stainless-steel clip inserted after stereotactic-guided directional vacuum-assisted biopsy (DVAB) of the breast, and evaluates its imaging value.

Methods: We used a sausage as a substitute breast and inserted the clip into it. The MR images of the substitute were scanned using a breast coil, and it was then dissected.

We present the survival rates of 75 nonruptured hepatocellular carcinoma cases initially treated with computed tomography-guided transarterial chemoembolization in a single institute. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 93.9%, 74.

Correlation among intratumoral blood flow in breast cancer, clinicopathological findings and Nottingham Prognostic Index.

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation among intratumoral blood flow as assessed by color Doppler ultrasonography, clinicopathological findings and the Nottingham Prognostic Index (NPI).

Methods: Twenty-seven patients with breast cancer were examined. All patients received surgical treatment.
