Background: Childhood and adolescent obesity are persistent public health issues in the United States. Childhood obesity Electronic Health Record (EHR) tools strengthen provider-patient relationships and improve outcomes, but there are currently limited EHR tools that are linked to adolescent mHealth apps. This study is part of a larger study entitled, CommitFit, which features both an adolescent-targeted mobile health application (mHealth app) and an ambulatory EHR tool.

A 36-year-old woman with a medical history of opioid use disorder and frequent urinary tract infections presented to the ED from her opioid use disorder clinic, where she was found to have an oxygen saturation by pulse oximetry (Spo) of 82% on room air. Starting 3 days before presentation, the patient's family noted worsening pale complexion and blue lips at rest. These findings of cyanosis had occurred a few times before and always resolved within a couple days without any medical intervention.

Background: Mobile health (mHealth) apps are becoming a promising tool to motivate sustainable lifestyle and behavior changes, including modifications to diet and exercise. However, most current mHealth apps do not have meaningful, and sustained user acceptance, particularly, among adolescents. They perceive mHealth apps designed for adults to be tedious and visually unexciting, which discourage adolescent usage.

Background:  Clinicians play an important role in addressing pediatric and adolescent obesity, but their effectiveness is restricted by time constraints, competing clinical demands, and the lack of effective electronic health record (EHR) tools. EHR tools are rarely developed with provider input.

Objectives:  We conducted a mixed method study of clinicians who provide weight management care to children and adolescents to determine current barriers for effective care and explore the role of EHR weight management tools to overcome these barriers.

Background: Adolescent obesity remains a significant public health issue within the United States. Mobile application technology growth and popularity offer new opportunities for research and health improvement. The development of a consolidated mobile health application (mHealth app) for adolescents on these platforms has the potential to improve health outcomes.

The diagnosis of cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis can involve early or delayed 99mTc-pyrophosphate planar, single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and/or SPECT/CT imaging. We investigated whether image interpretations differed among modalities and time points. In this observational study, data were reviewed for 173 patients with suspected transthyretin amyloidosis who underwent planar and SPECT/CT 1 and 3 hours after radiopharmaceutical injection.

Coronary flow capacity (CFC) categorizes severity of left ventricular (LV) ischemia by PET myocardial blood flow (MBF). Our objective was to correlate abnormal CFC with other indicators of regional ischemia. Data were examined retrospectively for 231 patients evaluated for known/suspected CAD who underwent rest and regadenoson-stress Rb PET/CT.

Background: We investigated quantitative Tc-pyrophosphate (PYP) SPECT/CT reproducibility and accuracy for diagnosing cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR), and whether SPECT/CT improved visual and quantitative results compared to SPECT-only.

Methods: Data were reviewed for 318 patients with suspected ATTR who underwent PYP SPECT/CT. Myocardial-to-blood pool count (MBP) ratios were computed and repeated independently > 1 month later.

Rationale: Common pharmacological treatments for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are central nervous system stimulants acting as norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitors. The noradrenergic and dopaminergic systems have been shown to impact performance on tasks assessing creativity. Some previous studies suggest higher performance on creativity tasks in ADHD.

Background: We wished to document the prevalence and quantitative effects of compromised Rb PET data acquisitions on myocardial flow reserve (MFR).

Methods And Results: Data were analyzed retrospectively for 246 rest and regadenoson-stress studies of 123 patients evaluated for known or suspected CAD. An automated injector delivered pre-determined activities of Rb.

Background: Asynchrony has been reported to be a marker of ischemic-induced left ventricular dysfunction, the magnitude of which correlates with extent of epicardial coronary disease. We wished to determine whether normal-appearing arterial territories with mild degrees of asynchrony have lower Rb PET absolute myocardial blood flow (MBF) and/or lower myocardial flow reserve (MFR).

Methods And Results: Data were examined retrospectively for 105 patients evaluated for known/suspected CAD who underwent rest/regadenoson-stress Rb PET/CT and quantitative coronary angiography.

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered all aspects of performing medical procedures throughout the world. It is important to stratify patients into categories according to the likelihood that a requested exam will result in a change in acute management. Health care staff should maintain adequate distancing and engage in frequent hand washing, and personnel who are patient-facing should put on PPE at all times.

Objective: Rb PET/CT rest/regadenoson-stress data enable quantification of left ventricular rest and stress function, perfusion, and asynchrony. Our study was conducted to determine which parameters best identify patients with multi-vessel disease (MVD) and individual stenosed arteries.

Methods: PET/CT data were reviewed retrospectively for 105 patients referred for evaluation of CAD, who also underwent angiography.

Objective Human adenovirus-36 (Ad-36) infection has been implicated as a risk factor for obesity. This study aims to measure Ad-36 antibody prevalence among obese and healthy-weight Midwestern US adolescents. Methods Obese and healthy-weight subjects 10-18 years of age attending an adolescent clinic in Missouri, USA, were tested for Ad-36 antibodies via ELISA assay.

Left ventricular (LV) mass:volume ratios indexed to body size (Mi/Vi) provide risk stratification for cardiac events. We sought to determine whether Rb-82 PET mass and volume indices are similar to MRI normal values for low likelihood subjects, and whether abnormal indices are related to abnormal myocardial blood flow (MBF). Data were analyzed retrospectively for 194 patients referred for rest/stress Rb-82 PET.
