Background: Medium-vessel occlusions (MeVO) are emerging as a new target for endovascular treatment (EVT). Primary MeVO occur de novo, while secondary MeVO arise from large vessel occlusion (LVO) through clot migration or fragmentation - spontaneously, following intravenous thrombolysis or EVT. We aimed to evaluate efficacy and safety of EVT in primary and EVT-induced secondary MeVO.

Because of the rarity of this lesion and its aspecific clinical features, AFX could be easily misdiagnosed and undertreated by many clinicians who encounter them. Dermoscopy represents a valuable tool for easily assessing skin lesions, even though histological examination is required for final diagnosis.

We analyzed DBI concentrations in the plasma of pediatric and adult epileptic patients, as a possible peripheral marker in epilepsy. DBI plasma concentrations are significantly higher (+ 62%, P < 0.

Since PBR in blood mononuclear cells may be acted on by anticonvulsant drugs, we investigated possible modifications of these receptors in newly diagnosed patients, before and after antiepileptic treatment and in drug-resistant epileptic patients. A significantly lower receptor density, with no difference in affinity, was observed in drug-resistant patients, compared to newly diagnosed patients and to normal age-related controls.
