This report describes results of qualitative analysis of feedback to elucidate what worked well and what needed improvement from the lens of our pre-clerkship medical students. Background: Health care providers, particularly nursing staff, are at risk of physical or emotional abuse from patients. This abuse has been associated with increased use of physical and pharmacological restraints on patients, poor patient outcomes, high staff turnover, and reduced job satisfaction.

Background: Overnight, physicians in training receive less direct supervision. Decreased direct supervision requires trainees to appropriately assess patients at risk of clinical deterioration and escalate to supervising physicians. Introduction: The orthopedics clinic at an academic medical center has low patient satisfaction rates for patients that require an X-ray and have difficulty ambulating. Objective: To examine associations of workers' compensation, chronic conditions, age, sex, and race/ethnicity with primary prescription of long-acting opioids (LAO) among working-age patients in ambulatory care.

Objective: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) public access policy mandates that all articles containing NIH-funded research must be deposited into PubMed Central (PMC). The aim of this study was to assess publishing trends of journals that were not selected for the National Library of Medicine (NLM) collection but contain NIH-funded articles submitted to PMC in compliance with the public access policy. Pulmonary exposure to multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) causes indirect systemic inflammation through unknown pathways. Context: Selective school-based alcohol prevention programs targeting youth with personality risk factors for addiction and mental health problems have been found to reduce substance use and misuse in those with elevated personality profiles.

Although public health campaigns advise pregnant women to abstain from ethanol, drinking during pregnancy is pervasive. Here, we highlight recent studies that have clearly demonstrated long-lasting neurobehavioral deficits in the offspring of laboratory animals exposed to moderate levels of ethanol during development. We report a case of familial hemiplegic migraine with prolonged aura where multimodality imaging showed hemispheric cytotoxic edema along with evidence of hypometabolism in the affected hemisphere while there was no evidence of hypoperfusion of the affected hemisphere demonstrating that neuronal depression is a more plausible explanation in its pathogenesis.

Nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ) is an important DNA double-strand-break (DSB) repair pathway that requires three protein complexes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae: the Ku heterodimer (Yku70-Yku80), MRX (Mre11-Rad50-Xrs2), and DNA ligase IV (Dnl4-Lif1), as well as the ligase-associated protein Nej1. Here we use chromatin immunoprecipitation from yeast to dissect the recruitment and release of these protein complexes at HO-endonuclease-induced DSBs undergoing productive NHEJ. Results revealed that Ku and MRX assembled at a DSB independently and rapidly after DSB formation.
