This article examines the dual effects of occupational health and safety cost (OHSC) fluctuations due to the occupational accident number (OAN), and the impact of the OAN on operating period costs (OPCs). Initially, OHSCs, OANS and other operational data from the company were compiled to build a foundational infrastructure. Subsequently, econometric analysis using regression techniques was conducted to identify relationships between OHSCs and OANs, and between OHSCs and OPCs.

When the personal and the collective intersects: Memory, future thinking, and perceived agency during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Do collective crises have an impact on the characteristics of mental time travel for individuals and collectives? The COVID-19 pandemic provides a unique context to address this question due to the intersection it created between the personal and the collective domains. In two studies ( = 273), we examined the valence and perceived agency involved in memory and future thinking for personal and collective domains. The second study also included a longitudinal component with 43 participants completing both studies.

The effectiveness of a fall detection device in older nursing home residents: a pilot study.

Background: Real-world research to evaluate the effect of device technology in preventing fall-related morbidity is limited. This pilot study aims to investigate the effectiveness of a non-wearable fall detection device in older nursing home residents.

Evaluation of the Patients with the Diagnosis of Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia: A Multicenter National Study.

Pontocerebellar hypoplasia (PCH) is a heterogeneous group of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by hypoplasia and degeneration of the cerebellum and pons. We aimed to identify the clinical, laboratory, and imaging findings of the patients with diagnosed PCH with confirmed genetic analysis. We collected available clinical data, laboratory, and imaging findings in our retrospective multicenter national study of 64 patients with PCH in Turkey.

Sepiapterin Reductase Deficiency Misdiagnosed as Neurological Sequelae of Meningitis.

Introduction: Sepiapterin reductase deficiency (SRD) is an exceedingly rare neurotransmitter disease caused by an enzyme error involved in the synthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4). It has been described in nearly 60 cases so far. The clinical manifestations include motor and speech delay, axial hypotonia, dystonia, weakness, oculogyric crises, diurnal fluctuation, and improvement of symptoms during sleep.

Electro-clinical features and long-term outcomes in guanidinoacetate methyltransferase (GAMT) deficiency.

Objective: To evaluate clinical characteristics and long-term outcomes in patients with guanidinoacetate methyltransferase (GAMT) deficiency with a special emphasis on seizures and electroencephalography (EEG) findings.

Objective: Non-epileptic paroxysmal events (NEPEs) are common in pediatric patients and may be misdiagnosed as epileptic seizures. We assessed the memories of the Capitol Riots, which happened in Washington DC, on 6 January 2021. Seventy Belgian and seventy-nine American citizens participated in an online study, in which they freely recalled the unfolding of Capitol Riots and answered questions regarding their memory.

Psychosocial Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Children With Cochlear Implants and Their Parents/Family Members.

Bone-Anchored Hearing Implants: Surgical and Audiological Comparison of Different Surgical Techniques.

 The bone-anchored hearing implant system (BAHS) is an effective amplification system that transmits the sounds received by an external operating system to the inner ear by bypassing the middle ear placed in the temporal bone.  This study compares the results of patients who underwent bone-anchored hearing implant system (BAHS) surgery using two different surgical methods in terms of preoperative and postoperative complications, surgical time, audiological findings, and patient satisfaction.  The results of 22 patients who underwent BAHS were evaluated retrospectively from video records and audiological results, The Turkish Version of the Glasgow Benefit Inventory (GBI) questionnaire were evaluated.

The effect of different types of convergent strabismus on horizontal eye movements.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of different types of convergent strabismus on horizontal eye movements and compare data with healthy control subjects.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, cross-sectional study included 38 patients with convergent strabismus (16 fully accommodative, 13 partially accommodative and 9 non-accommodative esotropia) and 19 age-matched control subjects. All of the participants had a detailed ophthalmological examination including visual acuity assessment, cover-uncover prism test, slit lamp, and indirect ophthalmoscopy examination.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibodies in genetic leukodystrophies.

Accumulation of intermediate metabolites due to enzyme deficiencies and demyelination can provoke inflammation in genetic leukodystrophies. Thirty patients with genetic leukodystrophy and 48 healthy control sera were tested for anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibodies by fixed and/or live cell-based assays. MOG-IgG was detected in two late infantile metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) cases, both of which were also weakly positive for IgG1, and one with IgG3 as the dominant anti-MOG IgG subclass.

Treatment of copper converter slag with deep eutectic solvent as green chemical.

Industrial copper slag is among the most important wastes to be evaluated in terms of containing valuable metals and the amount of waste approaching 30 million tons per year. Therefore, in this study, it was aimed to propose a feasible route for copper and zinc recovery from copper converter slag (CCS) by using choline chloride (ChCl) based deep eutectic solvent which is applied on this type of slag for the first time. During the leaching experiments with the pure ChCl-2urea mixture, temperature (25-95 °C), leaching duration (2-72 h), and pulp density (1/10-1/40 g/mL) were selected as the parameters to be investigated for Cu and Zn extraction.

Unraveling neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis type 2 (CLN2) disease: A tertiary center experience for determinants of diagnostic delay.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical phenotype, disease course, laboratory, and genetic features of patients with CLN2 disease over a 20 year period with a special emphasis on risk factors for diagnostic delay.

Methods: Thirty patients (23 families) with CLN2 disease, evaluated between 1996 and 2019 in a tertiary referral center in Turkey, were included. Clinical features, diagnostic pathway, disease course, genetic data, electrophysiological, and neuroimaging findings were analyzed, retrospectively.

Measuring dysfunctional grief due to a COVID-19 loss: A Turkish validation study of the Pandemic Grief Scale.

The global death toll to date of the COVID-19 pandemic has been enormous, and millions of people are grieving these losses. The aim of the current study is to validate a Turkish version of the Pandemic Grief Scale (PGS), which is a brief English-language mental health screener to identify probable cases of dysfunctional grief associated with a COVID-19 death. Participants were assessed using the PGS, Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) and Work and Social Adjustment Scale (WSAS).
