Background: The hemoglobin-albumin-lymphocyte-platelet (HALP) score functions as a comprehensive index that assesses the systemic inflammatory response, nutritional, and immune status. This study aimed to explore the relationship between preoperative HALP score and the prognosis of BC patients and to develop predictive nomograms.

Methods: Clinicopathological data were collected for BC patients who underwent mastectomy between December 2010 and April 2014 from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center.

Background: The C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) score is a novel indicator associated with inflammation, immunity, and nutrition, utilized for cancer prognostic stratification. This study aimed to evaluate the integrated prognostic significance of the pre-treatment CALLY score and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA levels in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients and to develop prognostic models.

Patients And Methods: A total of 1707 NPC patients from September 2015 to December 2017 were retrospectively enrolled.

Protein phosphatase 1 catalytic subunit gamma (PPP1CC) promotes DNA repair and tumor development and progression, however, its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigated the molecular mechanism of PPP1CC's involvement in DNA repair and the potential clinical implications. High expression of PPP1CC was significantly correlated with radioresistance and poor prognosis in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients.

Background: Treatment options for patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) remain limited to mainstay therapies owing to a lack of efficacious therapeutic targets. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to discover and identify novel molecular targets for the treatment and diagnosis of this disease. In this study, we analyzed the correlation of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) methylation status with TERT expression, prognosis, and immune infiltration in TNBC and identified the role of TERT methylation in the regulation TNBC prognosis and immunotherapy.

Purpose: As a rare type of tumor, the metastasis pattern of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) is still unclear. Our aim was to investigate metastatic patterns and develop a predictive model of prognosis in patients with advanced LCNEC.

Methods: Patients of LCNEC diagnosed between 2010-2015 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database were retrospectively included.

Background: The role of involved-field radiation therapy (IFRT) and intrathecal chemotherapy (IC) in leptomeningeal metastasis (LM) from solid tumors was gradually underestimated in the era of targeted therapy. This study was aimed to investigate the safety and effectiveness of concurrent IFRT and intrathecal methotrexate (MTX)/cytarabine (Ara-C) for LM, particularly for those who developed LM while receiving targeted therapy.

Materials And Methods: Enrolled patients were given induction IC first and then concurrent treatment, which consisted of IFRT (40 Gy total; 2 Gy/f) and IC (MTX 15 mg or Ara-C 50 mg, once per week).

Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are closely associated to tumorigenesis and development. However, the relationship between NETs-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and the characteristics of breast tumor remains an enigma. This study aimed to explore the clinical prognostic value of NETs-related lncRNAs, their correlation with the tumor microenvironment (TME) and their predictive ability of drug sensitivity in patients with breast cancer (BC).

Background: The nutritional risk index (NRI) is an independent prognostic factor for overall survival in various cancers, but its prognostic value in breast cancer remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the relationship between the NRI and overall survival (OS) in breast cancer and to develop a predictive nomogram.

Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 1347 breast cancer patients who underwent mastectomy or lumpectomy between January 2011 and November 2012.

Cancer cells modulate their metabolic activities to adapt to their growth and proliferation. Despite advances in breast cancer biology having led to the widespread use of molecular targeted therapy and hormonal drugs, the molecular mechanisms in metabolism related to the regulation of breast cancer cell proliferation are still poorly understood. Here, we investigate the possible role of SHMT2, a key enzyme in serine metabolism, in breast cancer.

Background: To build a predictive scoring model based on simple immune and inflammatory parameters to predict postoperative survival in patients with breast cancer.

Methods: We used a brand-new immuno-inflammatory index-pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV)-to retrospectively evaluate the relationship between PIV and overall survival (OS), and based on the results of Cox regression analysis, we established a simple scoring prediction model based on several independent prognostic parameters. The predictive accuracy of the model was evaluated and independently validated.

Purpose: A phase I/II study of intrathecal pemetrexed (IP) combined with involved-field radiotherapy (IFRT) was performed to determine feasibility, safety, and antitumor activity for leptomeningeal metastases (LM) from solid tumors.

Methods: Participants first received induction IP administration, followed by concomitant radiotherapy within 3 days. The concomitant regimen consisted of IP (pemetrexed 10 mg, dexamethasone 5 mg, once per week, 4 times in 4 weeks) and IFRT (40 Gy in 20 fractions).

Leptomeningeal metastasis (LM) has frequently been observed in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. So far, its diagnosis and disease course monitoring are still extremely difficult. Moreover, there is no effective treatment regimen for LM due to a lack knowledge on the molecular mechanism of LM.

Rational: Laryngeal granulomas are benign lesion that rarely occurs after surgery of laryngeal cancer. Until now there has not been standard treatment for it.

Patient Concern: The patient was diagnosed with laryngeal neoplasm one and half a month ago.

We aim to determine the feasibility, safety, maximally tolerated dose (MTD), recommended dose and potential anti-tumor activity of intrathecal pemetrexed (IP). Lung adenocarcinoma patients with recurrent or progressive leptomeningeal metastases (LM) after intrathecal chemotherapy were recruited. IP dose was escalated from 10 mg.
