The aim of this study was to assess the sleep status of middle-aged and elderly adults in Bengbu City, Anhui Province, China, to identify the major dietary patterns, and to analyze the association of different sleep duration and dietary patterns with metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its related influencing factors, as well as to explore the predictive value of sleep duration and dietary patterns. A cross-sectional analysis was performed utilizing data collected from the Community-based Cardiovascular and Health Promotion Study 2019 (COCHPS 2019) conducted in Bengbu. The definition of MetS adhered to the criteria of Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Dyslipidemia in Chinese Adults (2016 Revision).

Retroperitoneal leakage has been reported to be one of the causes of acquired decline in ultrafiltration. The present study investigated retroperitoneal leakage in PD patients and explored related risk factors.

However, it is not completely clear whether this association is caused by anemia per se or other comorbidities. Whether different types of iron deficiency anemia can predict the outcomes of CKD remains unclear.

Studies on the TyG index, obesity and the risk of prehypertension (PHT) in elderly people are not apparent currently. The study sought to investigate the predictive value of TyG index and the associations with PHT risk and obesity.

The study aimed to investigate the role of fibrinogen in left ventricular (LV) remodeling and functions in patients on PD, and explore risk factors related to high fibrinogen level.
Methods: From February 2008 to July 2018, adult patients on regular PD for at least 1 month were recruited and followed up for two years.
Aim: Coronary artery calcification (CAC) is a common and severe complication in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, and it progresses in a majority of patients. Fetuin-A, encoded by the alpha 2-Heremans-Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG) gene, is a serum calcification inhibitor. The study aimed to examine the role of AHSG gene polymorphism rs4918 in CAC and CAC progression of PD patients.

The study aimed to investigate the prognostic significance of left ventricular mass index (LVMI)-progression in incident peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, and explore risks factors for LVMI-progression.

A decrease in haemoglobin (Hb) levels was observed during the initial stage of the conversion from ESA to roxadustat. The study aims to investigate the effectiveness and safety of adding roxadustat to an ESA for the treatment of ESA-hyporesponsive anaemia in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD).

It is unclear whether the level of exosomal microRNA (miRNA) in peritoneal dialysis effluent (PDE) can predict UF or PSTR. This study was designed to investigate if there is a correlation between PDE exosomal miRNA (miR-432-5p) levels and various UF volumes and PSTRs in PD patients.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the association between -55C/T polymorphism of uncoupling protein 3 (UCP3) gene and the risk of NOD in PD patients.
Background: Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is the gold standard for the diagnosis of hypertension, but its effects on all-cause mortality and cardiovascular outcomes in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients remain uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between ambulatory blood pressure and clinical outcomes in PD patients.
Methods: A prospective, observational cohort study was conducted in PD patients enrolled from March 2001 to July 2018 and followed until October 2019.
Aim: Atherosclerosis has been reported as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease in the general population. As a phenotype of atherosclerosis, carotid plaque and its influence factors are rarely discussed among dialysis patients. The study aimed to investigate the prognosis-predictive significance of carotid plaques in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD), and explore risks factors for carotid plaque presence.

However, the risk factors for CAC initiation in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients are not known clearly. Adult patients with baseline CaCS = 0 and who were followed up for at least 3 years or until the conversion from absent to any measurable CAC detected were included in this observational cohort study.

Background: Research indicates that the socioeconomic status (SES) of individuals and the area where they live are related to initial peritonitis and outcomes in peritoneal dialysis (PD). We conducted a retrospective, multi-center cohort study in China to examine these associations. ♦
Methods: Data on 2,171 PD patients were collected from 7 centers, including baseline demographic, socioeconomic, and laboratory data.
Background: Coronary artery calcification (CAC) is associated with cardiovascular mortality in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. The present study aimed to identify modifiable risk factors for CAC progression in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
Methods: Adult patients who received regular PD for more than 6 months and underwent a series of coronary artery calcification score (CaCS) measurements by multislice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) with an interval of ≥ 6 months were included in this observational cohort study.
Objective: In patients with diabetic kidney disease, it is well documented that RAS blockade is associated with an improved outcome. This observational, multicenter study examined the "real-world" use of ACEI/ARB in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in China.
Method: Data from the China Cardiometabolic Registries on blood pressure, blood lipid and blood glucose in Chinese T2DM patients (CCMR-3B) were used for the present study.
Aims: To investigate whether education level of family members predicts all-cause and cardiovascular death and initial-episode peritonitis in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD).
Methods: A total of 2264 patients on chronic PD were collected from seven centers affiliated with the Socioeconomic Status on the Outcome of Peritoneal Dialysis (SSOP) Study. All demographic, socioeconomic and laboratory data of patients and the education level of all family members were recorded at baseline.
Introduction: Although previous studies have suggested associations between serum intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH), 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and metabolic syndrome (MS) in the general population, these associations are still uncharacterized in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
Methods: In total, 837 prevalent PD patients from 5 centers in China were enrolled between April 1, 2011 and November 1, 2011. The demographic data, biochemical parameters and medical records were collected, except for serum 25(OH)D which was measured in 347 of 837 patients.
Aims: To investigate whether uric acid (UA) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular (CV) and all-cause mortality in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients after controlling for recognized CV risk factors.
Methods: A total of 2264 patients on chronic PD were collected from seven centers affiliated with the Socioeconomic Status on the Outcome of Peritoneal Dialysis (SSOP) Study. All demographic and laboratory data were recorded at baseline.
Background: Diabetic patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD) have lower survival and are more likely complicated with inflammation than their non-diabetic counterparts. Here, we explored the interaction effects between diabetes and inflammation on the survival of PD patients.
Methods: Overall, 2,264 incident patients were enrolled from a retrospective cohort study in China.
