The study aimed to understand the prevalence and risk factors of hyperuricemia in a rural area of the Three Gorges, using data collected from 9354 participants aged 35 and above.
Findings revealed that men had significantly higher serum uric acid levels than women, with increased levels correlating with age.
Factors such as alcohol consumption and lower intake of green vegetables and fruits were identified as significant risk factors for hyperuricemia among the participants.
