Solar water disinfection facilitated by photocatalyst has been considered a viable point-of-use (POU) method for mitigating antibiotic resistance contaminations at the household or community levels. Here, density functional theory calculations are used to guide the fabrication of a carrier confinement domains (CCD)-decorated graphitic carbon nitride (CN) photocatalyst. The CCD integration effectively disrupts the electron distribution symmetry of CN, amplifies its local electron density, and facilitates the formation of long-range ordered structure, thereby enhancing charge separation efficiency.

Since the metal-support interaction (MSI) has a great influence on the structure and properties of single atom catalysts (SACs), the activity and stability of SACs can be effectively regulated by adjusting the structure of the matrix. Herein, the morphology of surface supported Pt species can be controlled by doping to adjust the properties of TiO support. Specifically, under the same conditions, the Pt species on the Pr doped TiO surface are Pt SAs (Pt/TiO(Pr)), while on the pure TiO surface are particles (Pt/TiO).

Pure-halide reduced-dimensional perovskites, featuring large exciton binding energy and tunable bandgap, show great potential for high-efficiency deep-blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). However, their efficiency, particularly in the low n-value phase domain ("n" represents the number of octahedral sheets), lags behind analogous perovskite emitters. Herein, it is demonstrated that the vibration of edge-dangling octahedra in the low n-value phase activates notorious exciton-phonon (EP) coupling, thereby deteriorating efficiency.

Emerging small noncoding RNAs (sncRNAs), including tRNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) and rRNA-derived small RNAs (rsRNAs), are critical in various biological processes, such as neurological diseases. Traditional sncRNA-sequencing (seq) protocols often miss these sncRNAs due to their modifications, such as internal and terminal modifications, that can interfere with sequencing. We recently developed panoramic RNA display by overcoming RNA modification aborted sequencing (PANDORA-seq), a method enabling comprehensive detection of modified sncRNAs by overcoming the RNA modifications.
