Background: NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide), high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-troponin T), and high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-troponin I) have been widely recognized as significant cardiac biomarkers, and are increasingly being recommended for early risk identification in cardiovascular high-risk populations. The aim of our study was to evaluate the prevalence of elevated cardiac biomarkers (NT-proBNP, hs-troponin T, hs-troponin I) and their association with the risk of hyperuricemia in the general US adults without known cardiovascular disease. We further studied whether elevated cardiac biomarkers are associated with an increased risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in individuals with or without hyperuricemia.

Objective: To investigate the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection on liver function and prognosis in patients with HBV infection.
Methods: A total of 154 HBV-positive patients (HBV ( +) group) and 154 HBV-negative patients (HBV (-) group) diagnosed with COVID-19 at Taizhou Hospital between December 10, 2022, and January 31, 2023, were included in this study. Clinical characteristics, treatment, and laboratory findings were collected from patients at three time points: before (T1), during (T2), and at the time of discharge (T3) from SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Objective: To study the therapeutic effect of sinomenine hydrochloride (SH) on dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colitis in mice as an animal model and the changes of Notch signaling pathway in colon tissue of mice after treatment.
Methods: Twenty-four mice were randomly divided into control group, model group, SH low-dose group (20 mg/kg) and SH high-dose group (60 mg/kg), with 6 mice in each group. Disease activity index (DAI), colonic mucosal injury index and colonic histopathological score were calculated.
Macrophages are key players in maintaining the balance of tissues and dealing with inflammation, carrying out vital functions specific to different tissues while safeguarding the body against infections. The intricate interplay between oxidative stress and macrophage polarization and how this contributes to pneumonia is not fully understood. Herein, a predominant accumulation of baicalein in lung macrophages of pathogen-infected mice was observed by an alkynyl-modified probe.

Paeoniflorin (PF) is a potential therapeutic drug to prevent reperfusion injury. However, the mechanism of PF in MIRI is not clear.

To investigate and diagnose sleep disorders, sleep analysis has emerged as the primary research method. Conventional polysomnography primarily relies on cerebral electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) for sleep stage scoring, but manual scoring is time-consuming and subjective.

These nanoparticles are designed to encapsulate and efficiently deliver the anticancer drugs doxorubicin (DOX) and curcumin (CUR), enhancing their water solubility and stability, while also providing active targeting towards hepatocellular carcinoma cells. The comprehensive characterization of AOQ[6]@Gal@ZIF-8@Drug nanoparticles revealed promising outcomes, including drug loading efficiencies of 9.

Methods: This study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from1990 to 2020.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Developing effective drugs is urgent for preventing platelet activation and atherosclerotic diseases. Qihuang Zhuyu formula (QHZYF) is a curative medical plants formula in clinic while its molecular mechanism remains to be further elucidated.
Aim Of The Study: To investigate how QHZYF, via the sirtuin 1 (SIRT1)/peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) pathway, mediates the endocannabinoid system, regulates mitochondrial function, and inhibits platelet activation, thereby offering novel strategies for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Background: Candida albicans is a pathogenic commensal fungus. Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Trichophyton rubrum are the leading pathogens of dermatophysis. Rumex japonicus Houtt.

Herein, three-dimensional (3D) Z-scheme cobalt-alumina-layered double hydroxide/bismuth oxybromide (CoAl-layered double hydroxide (LDH)/BiOBr) heterojunction photocatalysts with oxygen vacancies were constructed by intercalating two-dimensional CoAl-LDH between BiOBr layers in the mechanical mixing. The conversion of CO in the water phase was greatly improved compared to CoAl-LDH/BiOBr under 300-W xenon light.

Traditional techniques such as PET/CT pose radiation hazards, whereas optical imaging poses challenges in maintaining both depth penetration and high resolution. Moreover, very few longitudinal studies have been performed for drug candidates for different symptoms.

Compared to fluorescence probes with limited sensitivity and accuracy, chemiluminescence (CL) imaging offers the potential for highly sensitive molecular visualization of ROS by minimizing background interferences. However, the development of bright and easily manufacturable CL probes for ROS imaging remains challenging.

However, most bone tissue engineering approaches ignored the reconstruction of the nerve network. Herein, we aimed to develop a bilayer hydrogel simulating periosteum-bone structure to induce innervated bone regeneration.

Methods: The datasets used in this study were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.
Bead-based digital ELISA, the most sensitive protein quantification method, has drawn much attention to exploring ultra-low abundance biomarkers in the life sciences and clinical applications. However, its major challenge refers to the low antigen capture efficiency in the immunoreaction process due to the low probability of collision between the deficient concentration of the analytes and the captured antibody-immobilized on the beads. Here, we achieved significantly improved reaction efficiency in the digital signal formation by fixing the orientation of antibodies and revealed the kinetic mechanism for the first time.

In this work, the coaxial electrospinning films loaded with natural plant preservatives, namely laurel essential oil (LEO) and clove essential oil (CEO), were prepared by the coaxial electrospinning method synergistic with nanoemulsion techniques, and the hydrophilic preservation pads were prepared. The morphology of the film fiber is clear, without beads or damage, with fiber diameters falling within the 230-260 nm range.

However, for most given acoustic topological metamaterials, the operating frequency is relatively fixed and the effect of temperature on their topological properties is rarely considered. Therefore, a temperature-tunable acoustic topological insulator is constructed in this paper.
