One of the most striking topics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is Image captioning that aims to integrate computer vision and natural language processing to create descriptions for each image. In this paper, we propose a new dataset designed specifically for image captioning in gingivitis diagnosis using deep learning. It includes 1,096 high-resolution intraoral images of 12 anterior teeth and surrounding gingival tissue that were collected under controlled conditions with professional-grade photography equipment.

Methods: Twenty-five patients in need of lingual orthodontic treatment were consecutively recruited. Bracket placement was performed on ideal setups, followed by fabricating indirect bonding trays through vacuum-forming on 3-dimensional printed models.
Purpose: Accuracy of image matching between resting and smiling facial models is affected by the stability of the reference surfaces. This study aimed to investigate the morphometric variations in subdivided facial units during resting, posed and spontaneous smiling.
Materials And Methods: The posed and spontaneous smiling faces of 33 adults were digitized and registered to the resting faces.
Dental caries has been considered the heaviest worldwide oral health burden affecting a significant proportion of the population. To prevent dental caries, an appropriate and accurate early detection method is demanded. This proof-of-concept study aims to develop a two-stage computational system that can detect early occlusal caries from smartphone color images of unrestored extracted teeth according to modified International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS) criteria (3 classes: Code 0; Code 1-2; Code 3-6): in the first stage, carious lesion areas were identified and extracted from sound tooth regions.
