Phase noise characteristics of ultrafast fiber lasers are critical to practical applications, such as high-resolution photonics sampling. Herein, we investigated the impact of pump power and linear phase shift difference of counter-propagating light in the nonlinear amplifying loop mirror on phase noise suppression in a figure-9 fiber laser. Based on these results, we proposed a method for intelligent suppression of phase noise through real-time feedback control.

Background: Clinical T4 (cT4) stage gastric cancer presents with frequent postoperative recurrence and poor prognosis. This study is to evaluate the oncological efficacy of laparoscopic radical total gastrectomy combined with postoperative prophylactic hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in patients with cT4N + M0 gastric cancer who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Methods: We reviewed the clinicopathological data of 174 patients with clinical T4 gastric cancer who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by laparoscopic radical total gastrectomy between June 2017 and December 2021.

Article Synopsis
  • Multi-soliton operation in fiber lasers allows for the study of soliton dynamics and high pulse repetition rates, but controlling the spacing between solitons remains a challenge.
  • A hybrid genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GA-PSO) is proposed to automate and precisely control the temporal spacing of solitons in an ultrafast fiber laser.
  • This method enables on-demand spacing and even achieves harmonic mode locking for double solitons, which could enhance understanding of nonlinear dynamics and improve the efficiency of fiber lasers.

Mycotoxins have carcinogenic, mutagenic, hepatotoxic, nephrotoxic, immunotoxic, neurotoxic, and teratogenic properties. Thus, these substances have attracted significant attention because they pose a threat to human health. As research on mycotoxins deepens, new structural analogues of mycotoxins are constantly being discovered.

Nowadays, clean-up of heavy metals from wastewaters using waste residue carbon-based material has received increasing attention. In this work, a novel Chinese medicine residue carbon-based nano zero-valent iron composite (CM-nZVI) had been successfully prepared using the combined Chinese medicine residue, FeCl and green tea extract. Cr(VI) and/ or Cd(II) removal in water by the CM-nZVI were systematacially investigated with a series of batch experiments.

The self-starting performance of a figure-9 fiber laser is critically dependent on the phase shift difference between the counter-propagating beams. Herein, we propose an effective approach to dynamically control the phase shift difference in a figure-9 fiber laser by utilizing the thermal nonlinearity of graphene-decorated microfiber device. With the adjustment of the control laser power injected into the graphene-decorated microfiber, the self-starting mode-locked threshold of the figure-9 fiber laser can be attained in a flexible pump power range, i.

The recovery of spinal cord injury (SCI) is closely associated with the obstruction of oligodendrocyte progenitor cell (OPC) differentiation, which ultimately induces the inability to generate newly formed myelin. To address the concern, drug-based methods may be the most practical and feasible way, possibly applying to clinical therapies for patients with SCI. In our previous study, we found that clemastine treatment preserves myelin integrity, decreases the loss of axons, and improves functional recovery in the SCI model.

Aim: Carotid ultrasound is a key tool for the diagnosis and evaluation of cardio disease, and the measurement of carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and hemodynamic parameters is of paramount importance for the imaging method. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of handheld ultrasound devices for measuring carotid parameters.

Methods: We performed a carotid ultrasound on 25 participants using a handheld ultrasound device and a conventional ultrasound machine.

A low temperature treatment in rice booting key period was executed on the north slope of Changbai Mountains to construct the impact model of low temperature on rice shell rate, and to reveal the effects of low temperature at different stages of rice young panicle on seed setting. The results showed that effects of low temperature in the young ear formation stage on rice shell rate generally followed the logarithmic function, the lower the temperature was, the greater the temperature influence coefficient was, and the longer the low temperature duration was, the higher rice shell rate was. The seed setting rate was most sensitive to low temperature in the middle time of booting stage (the period from formation to meiosis of the pollen mother cell), followed by the early and later stages.

Aim: Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressant drug used to prevent allograft rejection. It is metabolized by CYP3A4 and CYP3A5, has a narrow therapeutic index, and variable pharmacokinetics. Here, we investigated whether CYP3A5∗3 and CYP3A4∗18B polymorphisms contribute to inter-individual pharmacokinetic variability in healthy subjects.

  • Japanese morning glory (Ipomoea nil) lacks sufficient DNA markers for comprehensive genetic studies, prompting the development of microsatellite markers.
  • From a large dataset of expressed sequence tags (92,662), researchers identified 514 microsatellite-containing sequences and designed primer pairs for 326 of them.
  • Out of 150 SSRs tested, 75 showed genetic variations, helping to establish relationships among various strains of morning glory, which could aid future research in genetics.

The aerobic granular sludge was cultivated by adding flocculant bacteria in sequencing batch airlift reactor (SBAR), the physical-chemical properties and biodegradation effect of granules were studied so as to investigate the influence of flocculant bacterium on characteristics of aerobic granular sludge. The results showed that flocculant bacterium could prompt granulation process, the aerobic granules could be successfully cultivated when the dose of flocculants was between 0-20 mL/L. The optimum dose was 10 mL/L, in this case the formation of aerobic granules needed 35d which was faster than that of 42 d in blank experiment, and SVI was around 40 mL/g, settling velocity reached 35.

In order to reduce secondary pollution during the incineration of composite refuse derived fuel (CRDF), the combustion features and the emission behavior of chlorine in CRDF containing coal were analyzed. The former was analyzed using thermo-gravimetric and the latter by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The release rate of inorganic chlorine during combustion reached 90 mass% at temperature between 773.

Pyrolysis kinetics of scrap tires of passenger car and truck have been investigated thermogravimetrically under heating rates of 5, 10, 20 and 30K/min and temperature range 373-1273K in nitrogen. The results show that the initial reaction temperatures are 482-521K for the tire of passenger car and 458-511K for truck tire. Both tires exhibit similar behaviors that the initial reaction temperature decreases, but reaction range and reaction rate increase when heating rate is increased.
