Fetal growth restriction (FGR) increases the risk of short-term and long-term complications. Widespread N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modifications on mRNAs have been found to be involved in various biological processes. However, the role of m6A modification in the pathogenesis of FGR remains elusive.

Article Synopsis
  • Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is a challenging pregnancy issue, and researchers suggest that dysfunctional human trophoblast stem cells (hTSCs) might be involved, although the exact causes are still unclear.
  • This study identifies Forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) as a potential key factor linked to RM, highlighting its role as a transcription factor necessary for hTSC function, though its specific effects in this context are not fully understood.
  • The research shows that FOXM1 is more highly expressed in certain types of trophoblasts associated with growth and that its lower levels are correlated with RM, indicating that FOXM1 may influence important processes like cell proliferation and the cell cycle via transcriptional regulation.

Introduction: To explore the potential impact of 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-HC) on trophoblast cell function in pre-eclampsia.

Results: The levels of 27-HC and the expression of CYP27A1 are upregulated in clinical samples of PE. Furthermore, high concentrations of 27-HC can inhibit the invasion and migration ability of trophoblast cells in vitro, and this inhibitory effect is weakened after LXR silencing.

Introduction: Radiation-induced ulceration is a late-stage skin reaction after RT for cancer treatment.

Objective: The present study examined the use of a single-stage reconstructive procedure to manage radiation-related wounds.

Materials And Methods: Nine patients with radiation-induced chronic ulcer with accompanying severe complications were admitted to the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Regenerative Center of Viet Nam National Burn Hospital between October 2015 and September 2019.

<b>Background and Objective:</b> The SWEET (Sugars Will Eventually be Exported Transporter) proteins play important roles in modulating the growth and development processes in plants. However, little information is available on the SWEET family in sugar beet (<i>Beta vulgaris</i>). The objectives of this present study were to genome-wide identify and characterize the BvSWEET family in sugar beet.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the impact of the first wave of COVID-19 on National Health Service (NHS) 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography computed tomography (FDG PET-CT) scanning activity across England.

Methods: Monthly FDG PET-CT scanning activity was collected from 41/48 NHS England provider sites. Data from 31/41 sites were stratified by nononcology/oncology, cancer type, with lung cancer and lymphoma split into specific indications, turn-around times and delays due to radiotracer.

Objective: To analyze the changes of blood biochemical index and the pathological changes of myocardium and kidney in type 2 diabetic mouse at different time points, which can provide the basis for the selection of type 2 diabetic modeling time for later research.

Methods: After 6 weeks of feeding with high-fat diet, 24 healthy male ICR mice were injected with streptozocin (STZ, 30 mg/kg) intraperitoneally for 5 days to establish diabetic models. After 9 days, a random blood glucose ≥ 11.

High concentrations of plasma lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] have been inferred to be an independent risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as coronary artery diseases, restenosis, and stroke. Apolipoprotein(a) [apo(a)] is one of the most important components of Lp(a) and contributes greatly to the increased concentration of plasma Lp(a). As a critical positive transacting factor of apo(a) gene, Ets1 has been proven as a target gene of several miRNAs, such as miR-193b, miR-125b-5p, miR-200b, miR-1, and miR-499.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examines the effectiveness of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in assessing atherosclerotic plaque and blood vessel growth after atorvastatin treatment in rabbits.
  • - Forty-five rabbits were divided into control, atherosclerosis (AS), and atorvastatin (ATV) groups, where various health markers and plaque characteristics were measured through different methods including blood tests and imaging.
  • - Results indicated that atorvastatin reduced plaque size and associated health markers compared to the AS group, while the control group showed no signs of plaques or new blood vessels at week 8.

Article Synopsis
  • The study looked at how to diagnose a heart condition called ventricular non-compaction cardiomyopathy (NCCM) in unborn babies using special ultrasound tests.
  • They examined 9 babies and found that most had problems with the left side of their hearts, and some had issues on both sides.
  • The research showed that it’s possible to diagnose this heart condition before birth, and it has unique features in the heart's structure that are different from healthy hearts.

Background: Our study aimed to investigate the feasibility of velocity vector imaging (VVI) to analyze left ventricular (LV) myocardial mechanics in rabbits at basal state.

Material And Methods: The animals used in this study were 30 New Zealand white rabbits. All rabbits underwent routine echocardiography under VVI-mode at basal state.

A total of 2690 actinomycete strains were screened as potential biological control agents in controlling rice bacterial blight (BB) in Vietnam. From these microorganisms, seventeen actinomycete strains were found to be capable of inhibiting all 10 major Xoo races isolated from Xoo-infected rice leaves. One strain, namely VN08-A-12, contained effective characteristics in selectively inhibiting all 10 races in vitro, but did not inhibit most of the other tested microorganisms.
