The horned-gall aphid, , is the most economically valuable Chinese gallnut aphid species, playing a decisive role in the production of Chinese gallnuts. The method of cultivating the gallnut species with artificial moss and increasing the yield of gallnuts after inoculation has been applied in the main producing areas of Chinese gallnuts. However, it is still unclear whether artificial cultivation affects the fecundity and gall-forming effect of .

By analyzing the lactylomes and proteomes of mouse myocardium during ischemia-reperfusion injury using mass spectrometry, we show that both Serpina3k protein expression and its lactylation at lysine 351 are increased upon reperfusion. Both Serpina3k and its human homolog, SERPINA3, are abundantly expressed in cardiac fibroblasts, but not in cardiomyocytes.

Inspired by the clinical success of immunomodulatory drugs, we aimed to design novel molecular glue degraders targeting GSPT1. Here, we report the design of a series of GSPT1 molecular glue degraders.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted, including patients who suffered wasp stings and developed ARDS between January 2018 and November 2024 in the Shiyan area of Hubei province. Based on the 28-day prognosis, patients were categorized into two groups: survivors (n = 21) and non-survivors (n = 25).
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the levels of coagulation parameters in elderly patients with severe pneumonia and analyse their correlation with disease severity and prognosis.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 207 elderly patients (aged ≥60 years) with severe pneumonia admitted to our hospital between January 2022 and December 2023. Demographic data, clinical characteristics and coagulation parameters, including prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time and fibrinogen (FIB), were collected.
Gallbladder cancer is the most prevalent malignancy of the biliary tract and has a dismal overall survival even in the present day. The development of new drugs holds promise for improving the prognosis of this lethal disease. The possible anti-neoplastic role of morusin was investigated both in vitro and in vivo.

In the sensing system, N-CDs act as a sensitizer of Eu and significantly enhance the fluorescence of TC-Eu complex approximate 40-fold owing to the synergistic effect of antenna effect (AE) and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). A paper sensor integrated with a smartphone platform is further fabricated for on-site measurement of TC.

In this work, two side groups with different topological structures were adopted, namely, vinyl acetate (VAc, aliphatic chain) and -vinyl-pyrrolidone (NVP, saturated ring), to modify polypropylene (PP) chemical grafting, and the effects of structural topology of the polar side group on the microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of PP, particularly on its electrical anti-breakdown ability, were investigated. Experimental results showed that the side group structural topology directly affected the crystallization and thermal properties of PP.

Local recurrence is the main pattern of treatment failure, affecting nearly half of patients treated for primary sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma (SNSCC). Due to disease rarity and heterogeneity of practices, there are limited guidelines for how to diagnose and care for these patients.

However, the optimal regime remains unknown. The use of beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB) has beneficial effects on muscle mass and strength.

We thus designed experiments to confirm the anti-tumor effect of a KAT5 inhibitor (MG149) in ATC.

The current biomedical model of healthcare is constructed largely in the Eurocentric tradition of medicine, which often disregards the diverse health perspectives of Canada's racialized immigrant older adults. As a result, current healthcare approaches (adopted in the US and Canada) fall short in addressing the health needs of a considerable segment of the population, impeding their ability to access healthcare services.

However, clinicians mostly grade approximately by visual assessment or not at all. To accurately distinguish the mild, moderate, or severe grade of early stage ONFH, we propose a convolutional neural network (CNN) based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the hip joint of patients to accurately grade and aid diagnosis of ONFH.

The elevated risk of poor maternal outcomes among AMA pregnancies is only partially understood and hotly debated. Specifically, AMA is associated with reduced fertility and an increased incidence of pregnancy complications.

Methods: We used EHR data to perform a cross-sectional study of children aged 3 to 18 years at well-visits in Connecticut from 2018 to 2023 (n = 50,290) that had either 1) incident hypertension (hypertensive blood pressure [BP] at the well-visit and ≥2 prior hypertensive BPs without prior diagnosis of hypertension) or 2) isolated hypertensive BP at the well-visit without necessarily having prior hypertensive BPs. We tested the accuracy of EHR phenotypes to detect recognition of incident hypertension or hypertensive BP using structured elements, including diagnosis codes, problem list entries, number of BP measurements, orders, and follow-up information.
This study proposes a novel surgical technique for the excision of benign parotid tumors, utilizing a extracapsular dissection guided by a three dimensional digital model of the facial nerve(3DFN-ECD) and compares its clinical efficacy with the extracapsular dissection (ECD) method. This prospective study included 68 patients with benign parotid tumors. The control group (40 patients) received the ECD treatment, while the experimental group (28 patients), underwent the 3DFN-ECD approach proposed in this study.

This study investigated the effects of varying light intensities (20, 100, 200, and 300 μ mol/m²/s) on the performance of MBGS in urban wastewater treatment, with a particular focus on glycogen accumulation and pollutant removal. The results demonstrated that light intensity significantly influenced microbial community structure, glycogen accumulation, and pollutant removal efficiency.

A field study was conducted to investigate the effects of adding biochar (200-1600 kg ha) derived from the invasive plant Spartina alterniflora on sediment physico-chemical properties, CH production potential (P), and the relevant functional gene abundances in earthen aquaculture ponds during the non-farming period. The results indicated that biochar treatments increased sediment porosity and salinity, while decreasing dissolved organic carbon and microbial biomass carbon.
