Article Synopsis
  • The study introduces a new gas filter-XRF (GF-XRF) instrument designed to reduce background intensity in X-ray fluorescence analysis, improving the detection of elements.
  • The instrument operates by adjusting gas pressure, with specific gases (Ar and Kr) used to filter the X-ray signals of target elements (Ti and Zr) effectively.
  • Results indicated that increasing the pressure of the filtering gas enhanced the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for both Ti and Zr, showcasing the instrument's potential for high-sensitivity analytical applications.
