Background: Hypersensitivity myocarditis (HSM) is associated with the use of multiple drugs and has been occasionally observed in patients awaiting heart transplantation (HTx). However, whether HSM at the time of HTx affects long-term prognosis, including acute cellular rejection (ACR) and antibody-mediated rejection (AMR), after HTx remains unclear.

Right ventricular failure (RVF) after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Echocardiography is a primary imaging method in the assessment of cardiac function; however, visualization of the right-sided heart is often technically difficult in patients with heart failure. We aimed to create a simple and generally applicable scoring system based on "left-sided echocardiographic parameters" to provide complementary information for predicting RVF after LVAD surgery.

Methods: A total of 396 endomyocardial biopsies, right-heart catheterisation and echocardiograms were performed in 35 heart transplant recipients.
