This report presents an unusual case of multiple paraovarian cysts that required emergency surgery due to a paraovarian cyst being entrapped by another paraovarian cyst. Laparoscopic surgery is considered useful for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and is, therefore, recommended owing to difficulty in differentiating paraovarian cysts from ovarian cysts.

We retrospectively evaluated 26 patients treated with dienogest (2 mg/day) after cystectomy (revised American Society for Reproductive Medicine [r-ASRM] stage III-IV) in a pilot study. Dienogest was administered cyclically, for a total of six cycles, each comprising three weeks on and one week off.

Method Of Study: The HLA-class II genotypes were determined using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method. The number of incompatible alleles in 57 patient couples with severe PE (including GH) were determined, and compared with that in 74 control couples.
Problem: The present study was conducted to examine the efficacy of immunotherapy for unexplained primary recurrent aborters using paternal lymphocytes.
Method Of Study: Two hundred and twenty-eight recurrent aborters were prospectively followed up regarding immunotherapy. Of the 228 patients, 165 underwent immunotherapy using freshly prepared paternal lymphocytes and pregnancy outcome was analyzed.
Objective: To elucidate the possible mechanisms of immunotherapy for unexplained recurrent aborters using their husband's mononuclear cells.
Design: Prospective clinical study.
Setting: Institutional practice at the Outpatient Clinic for Infertility, Niigata University Medical Hospital.
Background: Well-established first-line chemotherapy (such as EMA-CO) is extraordinary active for gestational choriocarcinoma. However, it causes very serious situation once drug-induced acute interstitial lung disease occurs during the treatment.
Case: A 31-year-old Japanese woman with metastatic choriocarcinoma was treated with EMA-CO as an initial chemotherapy regimen for seven cycles.
It is hypothesized that patients having unexplained recurrent miscarriage lack an appropriate immune reaction against their partner's antigens, which means possible compatibility of HLA antigens between the patient couples. The conclusion, however, has not yet been achieved, so the purpose was to determine whether significant compatibility of HLA class II exists between the couples. The HLA-DRB1 and -DQB1 genotypes were determined using PCR-RFLP method in 91 patient couples and in 72 normal couples.

Five-year survival rates in stage I, II, III and IV (FIGO) were 68% (n = 4), 50% (n = 2), 0% (n = 3), and 0% (n = 7), respectively. Overall survival for the patients with incomplete resection of tumor at primary laparotomy (n = 7) was significantly poorer than that with complete resection (n = 8).
