Objective: This study was to prepare solid dispersions of lidocaine (Lid) with 5-sulfosalicylic acid dihydrate (SSA) by freeze-drying (freeze-dried [FD] Lid/SSA = 1/1) and to evaluate their physical properties.
Methods: Here, we evaluated the physicochemical properties and solubility of solid dispersions of Lid and SSA prepared by freeze-drying (freeze-dried [FD] Lid/SSA = 1/1).
Results: Differential scanning calorimetry measurements showed that after freeze-drying, the endothermic peak due to Lid melting, the dehydration peak, and the endothermic peak due to SSA melting disappeared.
A sensitive analytical technique was developed for determining a 10 level low U/U ratio using multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. This analytical technique can determine the subnanogram amount of uranium in safeguards environmental samples. To increase the sensitivity of the U/U ratio, (1) the feed solution was concentrated to one-tenth of that in the conventional method and (2) data acquisition was started from the beginning of the solution uptake until all of the solution was exhausted.

Strontium in a urine sample was rapidly separated by phosphate co-precipitation, followed by extraction chromatography, and the Sr activity was determined by triple quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS/MS). Measurement in the MS/MS mode with an O reaction gas flow rate 1 mL min showed no tailing of Sr at m/z = 90 up to 50 mg L Sr.

In the present study, three strains identified in the collected specimens, three, E8, E18 and YH101, were found to be divergent from previously described Leptospira species according to 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequence analysis.
